Thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix it.
I managed to get to the part where I insert my dongle and it should shut off my PS3 automatically (which it does). I've verified that screen appears and unplugged my PS3.

All is good until I put in the files into my USB (the Step 1 files for the PS3UPDAT and Lv2Diag files). When I boot my PS3 there's no signal to my TV, and my PS3 is just sitting there (the PS3 is on). The HDD DATA led (from my ESATA Station) lit up for the first 10 or so seconds and then stopped. I'm not sure what it's doing, but it's been more than 15 minutes and it's still like this.

Do you know what's wrong?

Edit:
Is there some sort of indicating that it's actually updating or something? (Other then the fact that its supposed to turn off)
Also, I'm not sure if my PS3 is bricked or not, but I can access the screen where it says "Connect your controller" with usb, and I can access the recovery mode (the one with the list of 6 settings I believe). My HDD is formatted, so there's nothing in it. Could that be the reason why?

(Also, I've tried installing 4.10 on my HDD because thats the version my PS3 has but it keeps failing on update at 99%)

You can install rogero v2 via recovery option 6. To fix. Or download v3.1. I'll update the pack when I get to my pc.

Sent using HTC EVO 3d

You said you can get to recovery mode. The screen with 6 options.

Put the Rogero v3.1 or Rogero v2 pup file on a usb flash drive like this:

USB:PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

Then choose option 6 in recovery mode and follow the on screen intructions.

This is my first time installing CFW. My PS3 recognizes it being 4.10 (although it's not installed in my HDD).

So would it still work?

Edit:

It didn't work..
It says
"No applicable update data was found.
Connect storage media that contains update data of version
4.10 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons
at the same time."

I have the Rogero v3.1 FW in the USB at X:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

I think I misunderstood you.

I thought you said you already downgraded, and got the error from Rogero v3.

So you are at Chapter 2, Part 3, #5.?

5. Power on PS3 to XMB. You should get a screen that says "Plug in controller to USB and press PS button"
6. DO NOT DO WHAT THE SCREEN SAYS!
7. TURN OFF POWER BY SWITCH OR PULL POWER CABLE.
8. Insert your downgrade dongle in the right USB port.

What kind of downgrade dongle are you using?

Are you following this guide? Or multiple guides?

I followed your guide, but then I started following this one http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=30815

(I soldered my PS3 to the trigate w/ SBE point, but I'm not sure if it was successful).
This is my first installation to CFW. I am on V4.10 (and my HDD is formatted, so there's no contents of it in my drive).

But I do see the "Plug in controller to USB and press PS button"
And I was able to get it to shut off using my E3 Card Reader w/ the file to FSM the PS3 (I also have a PS3Key, but I just used this instead.)

After it shuts down, I remove the Key and put in my own USB with the Lv2diag.self and PS3PDAT.PUP (Rogero V3.1 CFW) (It's a 64GB formatted to FAT32 which DOES work on the PS3 as I've tested it before when my PS3 was working with OFW installed).

Thing is, while I boot it up with the USB in at this step, my PS3 Stays on and never shuts down (I've waited up to 45 minutes). The green power LED doesn't even blink to indicate it's shutting down.

I don't know why it doesn't work. I'm 100% sure the clip is installed correctly as I was able to backup my flash and install the e3_downgrade.bin file.

What could be the problem? (Also I'm on a Fat PS3 CECHK01 using a Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB).

I also know for a fact there's no issues with the HDD either as OFW was running earlier today. (I also did a Long format on my Laptop which also checks for bad sectors), there were no problems.

Any ideas?
