Hi All,

I was wondering whether anyone can help me. I have recenty bought a PS3 CECHL03 which has no logic board and no bluray. I have been reading up all night that its possible to update firmware to 3.55 with no logic board/bluray. however i am having some problems doing this.

The device powers up ok and i can get it to the recovery mode. Once the screen is up i have put the 3.55 BDB (PSPUPDAT.PUP) version onto a fat32 USB stick, in folder PS3/UPDATE and goto system restore. All that seems to happen is that i have "checking" and a spinning symbol in the corner for about 20 mins. After that i get an error i think its 8002f2e6.

Could anyone give me a point in the right direction. Im quite happy not to play game/PSN i would just like it on

use a firmware with nobd patches then it will update

I can see that this file is the cfw, can i install this one straight away or will i need to install the ofw with bdb first?
