You like to say never a lot don't you?
Do you have solid proof it is impossible that it won't be done? 2.4 was brought out to block clones.

If you are so well versed in the way they do it, why don't you make a thread dedicated to it with your guidance you could lead the way

Failoverflow found a exploit on the ps3 to allow us to get the keys.
This is not possible on the dongle because of the simplicity.
The clones are just 1:1 snapshots of TB. The security was never broken.

The TB 2.5 update has stopped the ability to clone TB.
TB can't be cracked, but the process they use to obtain the eboots can be replicated.

Here is a good explanation of why the 2.5 updated can not be cloned.

The actel chip they uses provides an encryption scheme to protect IP. From memory I think it uses 128bit AES. The programming to the chip cannot be read back after it was written to the FPGA chip, so no way of extracting it. This is even with the security features disabled. I think this is the part the TB team exploit to ensure it cannot be cloned. The program gets compiled and validated with the onboard circuits after it was uploaded, and only give a positive or negative feedback after it was written. The program cannot be read and cloned to other chips - so they have the program written at the manufacturing phase. Dont confuse this with the flash memory which they update constantly. Flash can be read without a problem.

FYI - I just got another PS3 and can now play my original v3.56+ games without the need for any type of Dongle or waiting. I still have the v3.55 for Linux and Showtime. Problem solved. No need for the TrueBlue, but still might get a Cobra due to it's benefits that aren't related to a list of stuff that hasn't been patched.

However, I still support an open market and all these rumors about using free code, the dongle is just drm and the TB uses stolen eboots are just rumors until proven which other then Team AC1d's all word no substance forum post which doesn't count for anything, but a halarious read (and where is their promised CFW) and remember DeanK debunked their baseless claims?. Think for a minute if it was based on free code why hasn't anyone figured out how to patch their own eboots. There's lots more to think about too. The dongle only for DRM; wasn't the first Dongles to be released doing more then checking signatures? Fact is all these claims are rumors with nothing to back up them with other then a couple of forums of people crying faul. If the Dongle was free and the methods to create the eboots opened up would you still have the same stance; no you wouldn't as all it really comes down to in my eyes is $$$ and how people think everything should be free. It's not. Get over it. Sick of waiting? Go buy a PS3 or progskeet for some Dual NAND that is if you are slick enough to open your console and solder stuff onto the motherboard. If you aren't then you're more of a "scene" spectator as soldering is like required to be a scener. Another fact of life.

Peace - Back to FFXIII-2

An 'Open market' does NOT mean selling DRM devices and the only reason you support True Blue, is because i dislike it.

So you support a dongle to be a pest, an antagonist, a pain in the ass, you don't actually care about anything else

I really think the scene is dead.
If the "hackers" of this scene can't even break simple dongles like this, how do we expect they dump the 4.0+ keys?

I'll block my ps3 again as soon as Mass Effect 3 arrives and I'll buy it from PSN. Better support the creators of the games than these crap DRM dongle devs.

I got an email from ps3breakstore or from someone I'm assuming is behind the JB2USB (some of you may have received this as well)

"Dear customer,
We have crack 2.5 update, which is on the status of test. We will release asap when testing over. Now only a few 3.73 version games can not be played, the others are ok, Hope you can wait patiently."

So looks to me that they have found the crack up to v2.5 and are in the process of releasing it soon. Only time will tell at this point? will see how things unfold.

1. its not an open market though is it? its a closed market (DRM = closed)

2. ps3devwiki has quite a bit of info. you should check it out sometime (and as for stolen eboots, do you honestly think they write their own eboots from scratch?)

3. they did. you get debugs and resign them (see the whole uncharted 3 intercepted/released eboot drama)

4. the first dongles worked on OFW with no prior modification. this relies on CFW (see a difference?)

5. if it were released to the open scene then there would be no DRM so obviously what stance would need to be changed?

6. if you hadnt noticed, most of us who disagree with them have other consoles already and buy games so that point is moot really. the money is not an issue. maybe you honestly do not see any wrong doing on their part which is sad to be honest

Dude he doesn't care one bit about True Blue, he isn't for it or against it, he is taking this immature stance, because i smacked his bottom for being an ass hole in a thread, ever since, he has taken this pro TB stance against me.

So all he is doing here is trolling, coming out with pointless posts, because he assumes that it will affect me, i find it funny
