Dunno if I'm allowed to post a link to crunch.. I'm sure someone will remove it if Im not.http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/threa...ide-The-JB2USB

As you can see by the picture and the talk from myself and Mark Webber, this dongle is a lot less secure.. Also this is not a simple "clone" of TB, it runs on a different chip so to quote myself
...so "these guys" managed to actually to crack the dongle and then they released a clone without the vital security parts?Someone that talented would've missed this?

Seems kinda weird to be absolutely honest.

Unless it's a ploy by TB team to render the TB dongle "useless" (by making it open source) and release a new one in upcoming months.

As others have said, the main thing that needs to be known is how they are doing the mods to play the games in the first place as the dongle is just a DRM device that shackles you to them.

Ok, I confirm that the dongle works with Rebug TB edition perfectly, but ....

Does anyone knows why rebug does not save the option fake region???

I can change the console region to USA, but there is another option region related that seems to be uneffective (and in fact turns off when rebootin the ps3) which I consider the key to solve the yellow triangle problem.

Thanks in advance.

Angry

Anyone have this problem? I got this dongle installed the firmware and everything was OK but all of a sudden my ps3 will not read discs. Went ahead and installed rebug 3.55.2 again and it still would not read discs. I went and replaced the laser and it worked again so I went ahead and reinstalled jb2usb firmware again and now it will not read discs again reinstalled rebug and still nothing. Can anyone help?

All the DRM dongles are ****ty as hell. What's your point?

Typical argument with a TB user:

"Oh, but they allow us to play new gamez on CFW!!!"

No, they shackle your machine to someone's DRM. The hacked eboots allow you to play new games on CFW.

"But Xbox360 needs hardware!!!"

And what does that have to do with PS3? A PS3 does *not* need additional hardware to play fselfed eboots.

"But it's the only option right now!!!"

No, you could update to the latest OFW and play any game you want. You'd lose the jailbreak, sure, but that's why you have 2 machines. Or a flasher. Yes, that's hardware, and yes, it costs money, but it's not simply a device to make sure you gave some shady asshats your cash.

"BUT I WANT TO DOWNLOAD GAMES FOR FREE!!!"

Why didn't you just say that from the start then?

And that Mr Small Minded is one of the reasons why idiots like you push people to use TB.

Try using a logical argument instead of the dross and rote about playing games for free as an excuse for TB.

Do you Seriously think that the majority of people who have had a JB'd console from day one want it for homebrew more than games?

I would like homebrew And games, and Yes TB IS a solution to that, so do I fit into your oh so wise view of being a Pirate and wanting games for free?

Before you answer, please check back on all my posts in PS3Hax and that will give you the answer.

TB itself is wrong, but that does Not give you the right to label Everyone who uses it as a Pirate

*End of rant to one track minds*

Woah, settle down. What have I said that isn't a 'typical' argument from a TB user? I didn't say every single person who uses one. I said "typical', and besides, I don't care what people do with their machines, or whether they buy, rent, or steal games. It just doesn't affect me in any way, kind of like gay marriage.

I do, however, get angry over hardware DRM devices that do nothing but ensure you paid for it. (in this case illegally acquired and modified copyrighted code)

Also, please don't call me an idiot, as I am absolutely *not* an idiot, and please refrain from knee-jerking at me over something that is obviously a misunderstanding on your part. Thank you.

As I said, use logic and not rote to argue your point, and No, it is not a typical answer/reason of TB users, it is the typical answer/reason of PS3 users full stop (and all consoles actually), so I stand by my point of you are being idiotic (better for you?) by singling out the Piracy argument as your main reason to have a go at a TB user.

Use the FACT (not opinion) that by them buying it, it helps keep the state of play as it is, but please get off the Piracy horse, it has enough people on it already and can hardly walk.

But I'm not using "the piracy argument"... I have no problems with piracy, personally, or at the least I'm neutral on the subject. The point I'm trying to make is after having the same arguments with dozens of people, I'm noticing a trend in that they defend this fuc*ing thing and make every BS excuse for it when all they (typically) are really saying is "$60 isn't that bad a price for 80+ free games". Go ahead, deny it. It's all over crunch, for instance. I don't want to insult any members here, but I honestly think the overwhelming majority of TB owners are slightly retarded. They would defend their oppressors to the death. People are actually cursing JBKing for cracking 2.5, because they fear it will interrupt their flow of free games.
