Question: I thought the PS3 could only read external SATA drives, formatted to FAT32... But FAT32 has a 4GB limit, correct? How do they have a 9GB ISO on a FAT32 drive?

I *really* think this is fake.

The PS3 isn't formated in Fat32... it doesn't have the 4GB limit... If you move files over a network to the ps3 you can get over 17GB to it. Past 17GB i have not tested it so beyond that i am not sure.

yea now im convinced that its totally fake, as i dont see anything but PS3 game files, how does a exploit in PS1/PS2 emulation work without a PS1/ps2 game involved???

So, you need the following tools for i.load:

* PlayStation 3 System
* 500GB + external USB 2.0 HDD (e.g. Packard Bell)
* ~ 850MB free disk space on the PS3
* Connection between the PS3 and your PC (W-Lan or local)
* Firmware 2.10 (not above, if released)
* 1 PS3 Game Image (made with SAK tool)
* 1 Original PS3 Game Disk
* USB Keyboard
Please gimme a hint how it works?
Huuh, ok. We found a little bug in the "PS1/PS2 emulation" and we use it to run our own code and it works
If there exploit works on the 40 GB ps3s then it would have to be a exploit using PS1 emulation ( as 40 GB ps3s have no PS2 BC)

the only thing i can think of is that I.LOAD uses a PS store PS1 eboot....but somehow i doubt that....

You are correct that the PS3 doesn't have a FAT32 file system.

However, they're not putting ISOs on the PS3, they're putting them on the external harddrive (as per the i.load "hack" specifications), which must be FAT32 in order for the PS3 to read it. The FAT32 file system has a 4GB limit, meaning a 9GB ISO couldn't be put on it without being split into several files.

Their image is only showing a single 9GB .iso - Unless the external HDD was formatted to NTFS or ext3, there's no way that file should be on that harddrive. The PS3 *cannot* read NTFS or ext3 external harddrives.

...Exactly. 40GB models can't do PS2 emulation, and PS1 games have a 700MB limit. They're claiming the exploit plus the manual is 1.2GB. And, also, it requires a USB keyboard to navigate the menu? So, all in the sudden, whatever hack they found cuts off access to the sixaxis for the menu, but brings it back for PS3 game backups?

Their story is falling apart. This is just more ******* attention-whore bulls**t. They are desperate for attention. Doesn't anyone remember when ******* modified Dark_Alex's custom firmware, saying it was their own, and caused a s**tload of bricks?

They are LIARS, and I am absolutely positive this will be proven fake.

Hopefully someone can destroy their site afterwards, just so they know we didn't enjoy the useless wait.

this has been bothering me.....
(beta package will include this save-file). Well, it would be nice to load PSOne .cso's like on the psp. This is possible in the furure after fixing the slowdowns.
if they were really into the scene then they would know that PS1 ISOs are in a eboot.pbp file not a CSO witch is only a PSP ISO image compressed.....

just too many little inconsistencies that they could have edited, i mean the updated their very first post....

Looking forward to this if its genuine. It all looks above board to me, the picture of the game files looks fine as this is why I assume they have said we need an original disc to play. If it does turn out to be fake, they have put a lot of time and effort into making it that way, why would they do that ?
