Lol, I have no idea who`s behind the dongles but I find it hard to believe its Sony. That conspiracy theory is just a little to much.

one year ago or so, Geohot was asking on his blog, with a poll, if people were willing to paid useless usb key for support the hack.
But i m not sur of it, because i asked on the latest new about Geohot, but my post (and the whole new) ...i can t find no more.
If someone can remember and confirm this, it s a real true question, not sarcasm/ not saying he s under trueblue.

Not something about Demon hades, it was a poll Geohot asked on his website, when he was still doing ps3 s hack, when may be even the first dongl wasn t out.
It was 3.15 period, or around.
the poll question was something like: are you ready to buy usb key for support the hack?

But on $ony - I dont think its them in any way as a corporation. However, it could be a couple of corrupt employees behind the scheme. Making some money on the side, hiding behind a dev no one heard about until JB2 hit the shelfs on the crunch site.

Geohot - I think his dongle question related to the ones used before 3.55 CFW came out. Also, i dont think he will have the connections or sophistication to arrange shipments from China.

Personally, I think its a couple of devs and even some site owners we might actually know (or not, depends in which circles you dwell) who at first did the DRM to prevent sony from seeing what they are doing, but then saw a way for a quick buck and went to the dark(er) side.
