Blackscreen after coming out of service mode

So i have this PS3 that i FINALLY got downgraded to remarry the drive to it. I got it all done and took it out of service mode to be greeted by a black screen. If i put the jig back in for service mode it boots fine. Its sitting on 2.30 firmware right now and what i have read cant go into recovery mode.

Can i update my system from service mode.

AFAIK, up/downgrading in FSM is fine as long as you use the lv2diag.self file#1 and a PUP on the root of a fat32 usb drive. Never update from XMB in FSM, as that apparently causes an RSOD.
