I have donated to Graf's case, and will do again because above and beyond being a PS3 dev, he has earned respect as a person and does Not shout from the tree tops just how wonderful and all-knowing he is.

There will always be greedy people who want it all now and for nothing, but that is the same in Any console scene. It is the devs themselves (not all as I hope my mention of Graf proves) who have crippled and ruined the PS3 scene, and in my opinion, if you want to put them on a pedestal and praise them as something better than everyone else then you need your head examining

Respect the person, not the ability.
Precisely my point! On other consoles there's still developing going on, but on the ps3 i feel a sense of fear mixed with ambition from the devs. Fear from the ones who like to develop for free and the recognition for them are all that matters and ambition (or greediness) from the ones who are bold enough to make TB a reality! I say again, I havent seen a really breakthrough for the scene since failoverflow's acts! At least not from the standard point of what was going on back then...free backup managers,cfw, the works! on the other hand I take a minute to appreciate the work done by the dev of the multiman manager, hands down to him for his efforts still, GREAT JOB Dean !
But I continue to say...someone please step forward with a new cfw...I dont care about PSN (or what is called nowadays), but being stuck with the same old games just because a game costs 69.99€ 10% of the salary, its too much to ask! Still I have some originals, black ops,uncharted series and others...but imagine how it must feel to those who have most of the game disc and some backups and are stuck from buying new ones because they HAVE to update! bahhh...
And the donation idea is a good one, if made into a consist and credible fact !
Resuming my point...where are the developers nowadays? 3.55+ is a must! :/

Each console has had its dead period. The PS3 seems to have got it almost immediately. Each console so far has managed to come back from it. The PS3 is still in its downturn.

Perhaps some sort of huge competition with cash prizes would be able to breathe a bit of life into it with new apps and homebrew, but otherwise I do not see anything happening till the next big hacker comes and breaks it open once again.

What about: "...snap out of it?"
I know, it hurts but it's as simple as that.

REALITY CHECK!

Actually, it doesn't hurt at all.
The PS3 scene is simply dead!
No one will hack this console again. They won't even come near it, let alone hack it.
And forget all about KaKaRoTo, he will not "save" us. He's been working on his HEN for over a year a now.

So here are your options:

1 - Update to 4.11 FW and enjoy games and SEN;
2 - Stick to 3.55 CFW indefinetely;
3 - Sell your soul to the devil and buy a TB, JBKING or JB2USB dongle;
4 - Buy a second PS3, if you are swimming in loads of money.

And those who claim the PS3 scene isn't dead, they either have 2 PS3 consoles and/or a TB dildo or simply are brain dead.

Maybe someone hears us and come faster
I think its perfectly hackable, is just software and without logging into SEN/PSN it must even easier since there's no need to an online check up! I think there's not really anymore interest by hackers...and the ignorant thousands or millions who want CFW continue to suffer the consequences

PSN is suffering from a bad *bleeding* effect, $ony won't let PS3 die, cause PS Vita owns the news.
So...If you put all the puzzle together and strip various users/devs/etc from their alter-egos and you stop and think for a minute it's plain simple = TB/JBk (you name it) keeps $ony at bay.

We reached a point were you have 2 choices, and guess what? most of the people don't like either of this two.
The future is portable consoles, not a slim/phat one that you can't carry on your way home.

IMO people should just boycott **** like True Blue and drive those guys out of business. If the entire community joins forces I think it's possible.
U can't knock another man for his hustle, with that being said I too wish the the tech in the TB was open but it's not that is just a fact of this life, but one day all will be revealed. If ur physically and mentally able to get a job get one.

Probably would work, look how quickly the Kinect got hacked and drivers made to use it on a PC, but then how to you go about it without $ony suing you?? Not only will they go after the site/person offering the money, but the person who hacks the latest firmware, as they would have had to agree not to hack it when installing on a ps3, you then get into the argument on trying to prove they bought a second hand console and didnt agree to anything etc etc.

The PSP scene has always had coding competitions. It is not a hacking competition, but one that encourages developers to make new homebrew content.
