I'd like to point out that if I release it now, the most probable result is that: no one will use it, most will consider this completely useless, and sony will prevent it from being used on future firmwares. But at least, people will stop annoying me on twitter asking for a release (I wish! I bet that won't stop them!), and I'll stop being treated as a 'fake' (even though I don't care about that). Mostly I want to fulfill my promise of "I will release it" even though I wouldn't be fulfilling the "when it's ready" promise. So.. what do you think ? p.s: Note that the poll is just to better understand what the community wants, the results of the poll will not necessarily dictate what I will do, so even if 100% say release it now, it doesn't mean that I will release it now, I will simply take that into consideration before making a decision. p.p.s: Other than voting in the poll, of course, you can also give your opinion as a comment to this thread. i think its going to be like the psp scene
once the wololo was saying he had hacked the psp
and he released the hack after 1.5 years
so that many will buy psp to clear out the stock
and then sony announced ps vita
i think sony controls all the developers...........
i also think they pay them.....

if you get tired of it and/or you have no time to work on it, just keep it and don't release it or just share it with a friend dev

Honestly besides low/troll users bashing devs, the choice is yours.
Either you sell it and make profit with it, or release it to make your discovery not *eyes only* and to the *public* that follows you to know more about it.

This is what is going to happen if you release it.

1. People praise you up and down for finally releasing your exploit
2. 2 days later, people begin complaining about how they cannot run the homebrew they are now able to install
3. Sony patches it before it's put to good use
4. Then everyone gets mad at you for releasing it in the first place and getting it patched

I voted for "Only release it when it's finished"; i think is the best way to prevent your work from falling in the wrong hands (sony, greedy devs, and dongle makers)

Passing it on to competent developers wouldn't be such a bad idea. In the grand scheme of things, it also wouldn't hurt to hold onto the exploit until the end of the PS3's commercial viability. That way, even if it is patched, there won't be much in the way of feature enhancements or new games to get locked out of to make the consequences that big of an issue. Who knows? Maybe as Sony shifts their focus to newer platforms, more developers will be interested in picking up where you left off. It's all about playing your cards right.
