Actually some of this is untrue. You in no way need a modded xbox to rip games, just to play them (unless you have a jtag). You will need an benq or lite on drive flashed with 0800 v3 fw, or you can use a samsung kreon drive. The difference between these 2 types of drives (kreon and 0800v3) is that a kreon only rips the SS as SSv1 and it does not read topology data (ap2.5). If you actually get an early release and want to make a backup copy then a 0800 will be required so that you can rip all of the security stuff properly. Now after you rip your game you will need to run the iso through ABGX just to verify that everything is correct. If you made a rip using a kreon then ABGX 1.0.6 (which is the version everyone should be using now) will patch everything that the kreon did not rip. To play these rips you will need to have LT 3.0. IMO all other version of LT are no longer safe.

You may ask what is an 0800 and a kreon. Well an 0800 is an actual 360 disc drive with a cfw that you use with a PC. There are mods that put these drives into nice housings, and make them very easy to use, but the most conventional way is via a sata cable and a ck3 drive power adapter. A kreon is an older Samsung pc DVD rom drive that has a cfw. I believe there are only 4 models that are capable of using the kreon fw. This is much easier to use and install because it is a PC drive. It loses no functionality, but gains the ability to rip 360 discs.

Xbox backup creator supports 0800v3, and kreon.

i still no it is a lot but by the time i by the tools its gonna cost me that much
and if i am gonna only need it once why go thru the hassle and au is equivalent to us if not more

Yeah $40 there is a little over $41 here but if you are happy with the price go for it. I know stuff there cost a little more there then here also.

I have an old xbox 360 collecting dust not sure what drive it has, All I would need to do is flash it with Ixtreme 0800 v3 FW then use Xbox Backup Creator to rip the games and after run it threw ABGX?
Also,
If I was to get the games iso from the net that I already own, I just need to run the iso threw ABGX?

Yes correct. You will need a sata cable and a ck3 (or old 360 if you really want) to power the drive. I made a homemade ck3 with parts from radio shack, but I had to sacrifice my 0800 for the good of my 360
