E3 Flasher dual boot without soldering

Recently, I have been interested in PS3 downgrading and jailbreaking. I know a lot about the E3 Flasher at this point, but there are still a few things I am unsure of. One of them is about dual booting. I read a few tutorials on how to dual boot the 3.55 CFW and the 4.11 OFW, but in the tutorials you either have to cut something on your PS3's motherboard or solder, and I don't want to do either of those. I was wondering if this would work:

1. You make a back up your PS3's NOR while you are still on 4.11 OFW
2. You turn off your PS3, remove the hard drive from the ESATA Station, and label it "4.11 OFW"
3. You now save the NOR backup onto your computer
4. You place a different hard drive, labeled as "3.55 CFW", into the ESATA Station
5. You turn on the PS3 and go through the formatting process
6. With the new hard drive, you downgrade your PS3 to 3.55 CFW
7. You now make a backup of the NOR while on 3.55 CFW and save it to your computer
My question is: Could you now be able to restore the PS3's NOR to either 3.55 CFW or 4.11 OFW, put the matching hard drive into the ESATA Station, and "dual boot" that way? Also, if this were to work, would there be a high risk of having your console bricked using this method?

Should work if you Patch your CFW NOR-Backup with PS3 NOR Patcher..

Search this Forum for Half Dual Boot. Seems that you mean that..

Thanks but is there a brick risk associated with this?

As long as you have a valid backup, you shouldn't be scared of any form of brick.

No, i think you should patch the CFW-Backup.

As described here: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...half+dual+boot

Seems for me that you want to use Half Dual Boot...

But don't ask what exactly the PS3 NOR Patcher does. That's also some kind of magic for me
