IM CURRENTLY IN NYC AND WISH TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO HACK MY PSP WITH A NEWER FIRMWARE BUT I NEED A NOOB TUT AS I HAVE NOT DONE THIS IN WHILE VIDEOS WORK BUT I HOPE TO HAVE SOME GOOD LINKS TOO. I have always went official firmware first then CFW.

omg i'm so fustrated with this I did read this tut you gave me but I can't figure out how to take my 5.50 GEN-D3. to OFW 5.00 I placed the recovery folder in the game folder renamed it to 500.pbp and it give me a error i want to trow it against that wall LMAO no never that This sucks really hard Alien kid I feel defeated I have no idea how it did it in the first place its been so long

Step 1:
Disable any plugins you may have thats running.
Step 2:
Download PSP 6.60 OFW here. Place the 6.60 EBOOT.pbp in PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder of your Memory Card. If you don't have an UPDATE folder in the PSP/GAME..create a folder, ALL CAPS.
Update to official 6.60 FW via the PSP XMB in the game category. Delete after it's done updating.
Step 3:
Update to 6.60 Pro B10 found here. Place it on the Memory stick the same way you did the OFW.
Step 4:
Enjoy.

The plugins you had running under 5.50 GEN will not work. You will need to update them to 6.60 PROB10, IF they are avaiable for 6.60PROB10. Check that thread I gave you a link to previously, it has a link with plugins that work for 6.60PRO. Same goes for CXMB if you had that too.

Bro I'm hugging the screen If you lived in NYC I would hug you. I got off the phone with my girlfriend google was my bestfriend it was very hard to find all the files and a few vid tut's i was able to do it. I just wish I came back here before i did everything that I did your methos is so much easier god you have no idea what i been through lmao I finished it right now after how many hours.
