All i can remember is that the scene started out for profit with the release of jailbreak.... the ps2 scene started out the same way and people were making money off hardmodding for the wii/xbox/ps2. Basically piracy for a price....... (thats my 2 cents)

The problem is there is quite a sizeable community of liked minded people like you, and i'd like to say i'm in that pool of users. I don't complain endlessly to devs and sit and wait patiently.. when the devs decide to go away and nothing happens then we have an issue. that issue is that we have a considerable investment in games and we have the wife and kids.

Now, i have learnt from bitter experience that kids and optical media don't mix. CFW was a godsend as the discs were safe and we were happy. Never bashed kmeaw as its his firmware on my PS3 :-)

flash forward to today and there is no new CFW, the ONLY way we see to run new games is to buy a dongle. I dont have a problem with this because

a) its far cheaper than replacing game discs
b) there is no other option
c) its kid friendly

I don't want to contribute to the dongle sales, as i don't agree with them. I'm stuck as i as I still want to protect my investment, and there is no other option. there is only so long my impatient kids will wait, so what am I to do

I'd be more than happy to put in a cash pot for a dev or N dev(s) to crack TB wide open, but not a single team has stepped up.. Guess I should buy the dongle, and keep quiet. No one wants to be the recipient of the wrath of the anti-tb lot (of which I have been a member thus far).

if hardware was forced simply because they made it so i would call them a bunch of c*nts and update.

as for the topic at hand, there is something fishy going on and rather than name who i suspect, i will simply say that the fishy smell is coming from the vaginas of the c*unts who turned freedom of information into a paycheck

I always hate these conspiracy theories, it makes me wish to close them. But ehhh, know what? Yes I do believe that some devs are horsesh*t. Yes I do believe that a powerful machine such as the ps3 is being neglected by both Sony and the modding community, but I still love this community, this is my family. Besides the fake devs, the banning of spambots and trolls, the fighting amongst ourselves, this is still my family and no one will stop us. I don't give a sh*t if your name is Howard Stringer or if your name is Mathieulh. I don't give a damn if you buy dongles or if you make/sell them. This is what I believe in, and I don't care how long it takes, I'll play online and buy new games while I sit and wait for a new breakthrough, and it will happen. It has to.

You could be right. You could be wrong. It's all very plausible. They hypocrisy is what kills me. People moan about Sony and then turn around do a lot of the same practices to users. They steal open source material and charge people for it. Sony is probably sitting back and laughing while looking upon the scene. In turn the scene would go and buy a used PS3 to spite Sony so they can use OFW, but go and buy a dongle, thus supporting the dongle devs. If the scene had more people like Graf it would be amazing and the possibilities endless. The dev's either found the keys or found found a way to replace them with their own. The only way to fight this is to stop supporting them. I'm still on 3.55 kmeaw. If there is never any new CFW, I'll still stay here. If I wanna play new games I'll just do it on my 360. Other things I think are funny about this includes JFW too. A lot of the TB features are things he said he would bring to his JFW. Also how he said you didn't need the keys to play the games and etc. I'm sure a lot of people will laugh at me for that. I think it's a good point though. I wouldn't be totally surprised if other dev's talked him into doing a dongle with them instead of a release. All the trolling him and other dev's received might have possible been one of the things that pushed them to decide to do a dongle along with the greed.
