Try and put the lv2diag.self and the PS3UPDAT.PUP on the root of a flash drive. Insert in the right Usb port. And turn on the ps3 and see what happens. If it starts to work you will be able to tell by the hdd light flashing.

I have doubts about my downgrade methods though. It might be that my PSP is not compatible with PS3Jig and also I'm quite sure that my PS Jailbreak dongle is not working. Now I'm looking to get a downgrade dongle that will work.
One step forward, two steps back. How frustrating. |

Okay, just got my PS3Key and updated it according to the instructions. PS3 shuts down automatically after a few seconds after power + eject combo. Got real excited and proceeded to the next step where I place the lv2diag.self and PS3UPDAT.PUP into my USB stick. But now my PS3 is flashing the green light and it didn't shut down!

Check the log file on the USB to see what the error is.

Hmmm, maybe my problem is the dongles as well. (ie. my PS3 will not automatically turn off)
Is a "downgrade" dongle different from a "jailbreak/FSM" dongle? For example, I've tried PS3Jig and PSFreedom (iPod Touch) and none seem to work. However, I'm trying to downgrade from 4.11 to 3.55 (or 3.41 or whatever). Do I need a special _downgrade_ dongle for that? |

If the downgrade was a success, the ps3 will shut down, if not it will blink the green light and not shut down. If you check on your USB stick, there should be a log file, near the bottom of that file, it will say either manufacture update success, or failure. If it failed the should be an error code (8002f057) or something similar. Which lv2diag.self and PS3UPDAT.PUP are you using?
You are at the point of installing the downgrade, but it is failing for one reason or another. |
