The good thing is there is still over 500 games that you can play on a jailbreak ps3 so get playing.
I will be a little nicer to you. Blame TB before you blame JBking. All JBking has done is clone a dongle that was made to allow newer warez by using their reDRM. I hate reDRM dongles, but anyone that is cloning that crap for a cheaper price is better than the original TB team.

Why would anyone want to support a company that uses code that could potentially wipe your HDD? You may say they are protecting their investment, but if it were not for the devs, and all the people that thought that all of the work was essentially open source, then True Blue would not have the knowledge to create that dongle.

Every last dime that True Blue has made was due to open sourced work. They have taken it and closed the source. I can think of another company that takes GPL/open source and closes it....Sony. Maybe True Blue should donate some money to the devs that, without there information, True Blue would have never existed.

Minidisc and Aibo were good for humanity, people just didn t knew how to use it.

What I see here are end-users basically *****ing to devs about getting free stuff. I think its nice warez groups exist that can bring us free software and devs who want to hack machines to increase their functionality but to ***** to them about releasing things for free is like putting a gun to their head and forcing them to work for you with little to no pay..... If they want to charge for a product then id say let them do it (as long as the product works as advertised).

@BobbyBlunt

Didn't the original jailbreak team do the same as the TB team?

People often see want they want to see, hear what they want to hear. But just a bunch will go deeper into the rabbit hole. (so to speak).
The *Scene* where the users claims with so much imperative attitude a solution, yes i can say it's dead.

That's why theres no grey area on this. Because people don't care who is behind the curtain, who pays for the server to stay up to them make demands or who is the one that keeps updating daily basis a wiki. They just don't care.
On the other hand we have the other *Scene* (the well oiled machine working) where an average user won't see/inspect because it's *difficult* to understand and no donwload links to warez.

In some kinda way we (on this side) are nurturing that kind of behaviour and we have to deal with it. Ergo this people won't waste time to search and get informed and learn they just want to play, not how cell processor works or anything like that.
It's sad in some point, but it's ok everyone has the liberty to choose.
But when this kind of arguments arise and those users who want links NOW, or want more quick solutions, they are the first to state that the *SCENE* is dead.
Making mention and using a faulty judgment over the surface when they not even spent some time to try to understand the core of the situation and how much progress was and is made.

So pretty much resumes to this:

No it was actually the reverse. The dongle came out, then the scene devs reversed it and made it free for everyone (outside the need to buy a microcontroller to program) If I didnt have a BlackCat lying around that I used when playing with Cable Modem hacks, then I could have just got a PIC from school and all the other needed components.

I think you misunderstood the post you quoted.

Specifically this part:

"Didn't the original jailbreak team do the same as the TB team?"

The original jailbreak team released a dongle and charged a hefty sum($100.00?) for it.

Later Math released a reversed engineered version of it for free.

Correction: a group of anonymous individuals reversed engineered it, recoded it into an open source version and released it without ego to the public, with the exception of one person, Mathieulh.
Those people documented its progress on a wiki, which again was egoless published, a wiki which later was removed by Mathieulh from the face of this planet when raids took place at its greatest wiki contributor: Graf_chokolo.
Shortly after, defyboy (together with community help) resurrected that legacy online on his own costs with the vision that information should be free and available to everyone. That site is now over a year further, grown to over 1250 pages had over 2 million visitors and can still to be found @ www.ps3devwiki.com

To anyone that dares to say "it is dead" : try to keep up with its daily additions since day0

Death is a natural occurance but
This scene isn't dead. It has been put in an induced coma
