I think it's the cost of setting up such a server. Add that $ony will probably sue the people who make such a server, you end up with just an idea with noone wanting to materialise.

I think the problem is is that this isnt like setting up a private WoW server, you have to sign into PSN first which then connects to the specific game server, and this probably means a lot more work having to go into it.

It is a shame that devs and hackers are no longer working on the PS3, as I believe all the tools are there to hide us from $ony, I think there is a tool which spoofs your console ID, so if $ony try to ban you via that you can just change the ID and go online again.

We know there are people who may be able to do this, it's just that they arent and wont.

I have played games like cod4 on my pc and I was able to connect to private servers to play online ( because normal wouldn´t work ) ... So one day I thought - hey, I can make my own server... didn´t turn out well = no one joined , but I know that people with cfw will join,, cuz we are alot :D So would it be possible to to so ? Like If I want to be host I could make a server via hamachi or something, and then you guys would be able to connect to my server with the help of cfw

But this is what I´m trying to avoid = signing in to psn
If we could bypass psn and connect directly to a server that would make us able to play games online
What do you mean with spoofer ? You cant go online with a spoofer right ??

Right a spoofer will not let you sign in. I am spoofed to 4.11 and it use to give error but now it says I need to update. So they are working on ways to block this all the time and I think this is why psn access is not going to happen ever. There has been ways in the past but they never last long.

I don´t get it.. why do you need to spoof if you cant get psn anyway? and what did the other dude mean with changing console id ? again, you cant sign in to psn so why change console id ? Is this if you get banned while dual booting ?
My "idea" is to totally skip psn and connect to private servers instead..
Steam is an good example...
PC-GAME----> STEAM -----> SERVER
but instead of using steam on pc you can connect to private servers
PC-GAME----> PRIVATE SERVER
this is what I want to do with ps3.. so instead of connecting to psn...
PS3-GAME---> PSN -----> SERVERS
...you could do this
PS3-GAME ----> PRIVATE SERVERS
but this is for games only, no ps store, home etc just games... but as mentioned earlier we don´t need these because we already have reactpsn..
And the fact that with cfw we actually have full control of ps3 so we should be able to connect our games to private servers

Thanks, just read the readme file and he says "This won't permanently patch your PSID, but should let you fool PSN. Best way to try this is for somebody with a banned PS3 to try changing it and going online."
To change the id you need cfw and you cant go online with cfw but he says to try to go online :S I don´t get ... has he found a way to go online with cfw ?
