Few games not working

So i downgraded my ps3, yesterday and installed the TrueBlue flash, and a true blue dongle..

So far i been able to play from my external drive:

- Fifa 2012
- Infamous 2
- SSX
- Virtual Tennis 4

But there a few games that people claim to be able to play with the regular 3.55 CFW that i cant play...

Gran Turismo 5
God of War 3

When i try to play these two games my PS3 just goes black and i reloads the main ps3 screen..

actually got god of war to work, had to put a working ps3 disc in, and it worked, also i think to get gran turismo to work i just need to update it

I was searching the forum for a solution to the same problem I'm having with Gran Turismo 5.

I am performing the update right now with the files listed below... I don't have any readme file, but I suppose I can execute each update one after the other by following the order number :

EP9001-BCES00569_00-0000000000000000-A0105-V0100-PE.pkg
EP9001-BCES00569_00-0000000000000000-A0106-V0101-PE.pkg
EP9001-BCES00569_00-0000000000000000-A0107-V0100-PE.pkg
EP9001-BCES00569_00-0000000000000000-A0108-V0100-PE.pkg
By the way, while the copies are running before I can install the updates...

Virtual Tennis 4 works fine without much to do, the same goes for Infamous 2. I don't know about SSX but it seems to be a 4.01 game, so I suppose it won't work. Then again it's been some time since I tried any new game, maybe something new I don't know about yet will make it playable.

Anyway, I can't seem to update for GT5, the PKG files are not seen by the console... I'll keep trying and in the mean time, if somebody knows how I should do this exactly, any advise would be appreciated.

I found out how to make the updates available from XMB/Install Package Files

I use MultiMan, in which I opened the File Manager and browsed to my package files
Select the first file and press X
Answer "Yes" when it asks if you want to install from XMB, it returns to XMB
Go to "Install Package Files" - there they are.

Now for the game... does it work ? ..... (just for precision, I do have a disk in the reader) ..... updates done, starting game ..... NO ! Black screen...

Alright - I actually got it to get further than that earlier, but I changed my EBOOT.BIN file since then... BRB...

Ok... so no... it didn't work either with another EBOOT.BIN file modified with ebootFIX.

Suggestions ?

Installing all the packages was the wrong thing to do...

Just install the first patch, A0105, then replace the EBOOT.BIN with a 1.05 version...

Starting now ... seems to work ... installing data (30mins left... I'll be back in a mo...)

The installation takes a while and the ETA displayed doesn't seem to refer to any actual remaining time - but it does end eventually... And the game works just fine

So there's the recap :

Get the 1.05 update (A0105) and the EBOOT.BIN for 1.05
Replace the EBOOT.BIN
Split the 11GB file
PC to External drive to PS3
Install the update
Start the game

Commenting each step of the way was only to demonstrate how a newbie like me gets the games to work... Keep Googling, and as long as you're not updating the console's firmware you can just keep trying out whatever advise/method you may find on the web
