Okay, so I got the flasher, installed, the lights came up, I updated, and tried to make a dump and I get error 10001100 every time. I have disassembled and reassembled a dozen times and I can't get it to work. I have tried a few of the things in this thread, like sanding the edges of the clip so the resister doesn't interfere with the clip, taping a nickel on top of the clip so as to keep pressure on the clip, I also tried some electronic cleaning spray on the clip and chip. The chip is one of the Samsung ones that the guys in that thread were complaining about. I really don't know what else to try... I'm starting to think it's not something with the contacts but rather that fact that I'm trying to dump at the "no harddrive found" screen.. not that that makes a lot of sense. Anyway... anything else I could try?

That error is definitely from the clip not being flush with the mobo.

All I can say is try to reseat the clip again. Press the clip on the chip very hard. Put the mobo on your knee, and press with your thumb very hard. I then put a piece of scotch tape over the clip and press the clip harder. Then I take a piece of very strong blue duct tape and put over the scotch tape. Then press down harder.

The whole time I am pressing the clip down, I am thinking to myself, "I do not want to take this f @cki ng thing apart again!"

Bah, I give up! I think I ended up wrecking my clip, I can't even get it to stay on now. I think I'm going to try soldering on the e3 linker, since I don't have anything else to loose. I found a picture with the points marked, my question, there's a ton of ground points marked, do I need to connect all of them to my e3 linker and if I do, does it matter which one goes where?

Another question... my current soldering iron doesn't have a fine enough tip for this job, can someone recommend something fairly inexpensive that will get the job done? I'll also need wire and solder, will these work (following suggestions from the dev wiki.)

Be carefull when soldering small things to the ps3. If you don't have experience, you will kill your ps3. If you have to buy a soldering iron, might as well pay some expert in your area to do it! Then you'll know that it is done by expert.

If you are an expert and want to try it, that iron will do it.

So I just finished soldering everything (finally). The ps3 still boots, the green lights on the e3 flasher come on, but no blue lights, I'm trying to reflash the samsung update. I followed the pinout guide for my mobo and I only left a couple ground points unattached (which I read is okay). Is there a simple solution to this other than de-solder everything and try again?
