Thanks man the only ones I've been able to find are factory refurbished, seller refurbished, used, there are new ones but they are US$1000 and up . I would have bought 2 cecha01 at launch if I knew this was going to happen. Owells guess I'll Keep my eyes open, I know gamestop has some used/refurbished ones for like $300 I think it was, I'll go check there I guess.

So i have to manage to repair this one.

Use gamestop, they have refur in good shape!

Currently debating should I get parts to repair PS3, Buy a used CECHA01, buy a refurbished CECHA01, but a new CECHA01, or just say f**k it and get a slim. Reason that I want specifically the CECHA01 or the first gen 20 GB is because of the B/C so if anyone want to help me find one of either two that's be great.

PS: also any other HW B/C PS3 model like the early 80 GB iirc.

Depends how many you want to spend, a new CECHA01 i don't know..a refur maybe will do the job. Or **** it with CECHA01 and go for CECH2501 or something like that.

F**king SONY, why they had to make different models that didn't have EE+GS. F**king pricks now I can't just go out and buy any PS3 and expect it to have EE+GS.

Also Next attempt at reball I'll be sure to only reball GPU and not touch the CellBE, and if I do I'll be posting more questions. And Also I have a PS3 mobo that I can practice on now lol.

Avoid Gamestop at all cost. I'll visit a few pawns shops 1st....I'm sure they have 2 or 3 PHATS that's under or at 3.55 & cheaper. Good Luck!

With the messed up CECHA01 Motherboard I went ahead and practiced on it. I removed everything I could and I must say the first few were a complete fail compared to the later ones, one thing I learned was quickly heating at high temperature was bad and lower but longer heat is good (at least looks good). I will grab one of my old and crappy GPUs to practice on next so that I know the way I'm doing it isn't damaging the components further. I will reball a known working GPU and plug it back in and see if it still works, if it does then YAY I've somewhat obtained a new skill lol.

PS: If anyone plans on doing this I recommend getting/using gloves, respirator, and goggles. I was getting light headed without the respirator and gloves because sometimes I touched the HOT A$$ heat gun by accident. Goggles for more safety. Also if you are doing this in a small room make sure there are windows, I did all this in my bed room and hooked up a fan to the window and turned it on to get rid of the fumes etc, remember to blow out and not suck in (you don't wanna circulate those fumes into your house now do you).

I'll post back when I get to the GPU reballing test .

Lol I hear yah, but I really did put alot of effort in making this bootlegged station. And for the most part should work fine, I'm just lacking experience I figure but once I get that under my belt I'll buy a proper station to make you proud lol.
