BluRay drive not working after reflow

I picked up a 80gb BC the other day that was supposed to be GLOD. When I first turned it on it was YLOD. Started to disassemble it and thought I'd give it one more try. it booted fine but I noticed the blue light was on constantly. The previous owner had taken it apart and it wasn't put back together properly. I realigned everything and got it to work but during the process I did notice strange power issues. sometimes (while working on it) it would eject, light up ect. In the end, I got it to accept discs and everything looked fine. this ps3 was acting strange this whole time and after fixing the drive and powering back up it would artifact and such. I tried putting a disc in it again and it wouldn't accept it again. Didn't think much about it other than maybe it misaligned again. I went ahead and did a reflow on it and while it was cooling down I fixed the drive in another ps3. it worked great. Upon putting the ps3 back together it does nothing. the blue light flashes but it will not accept discs. upon power up, the laser makes no movements or anything. the drive does not spin. there seems to be a power issue somewhere. It works great in another ps3 with the board from this ps3 so i know the board and drive are good. I've tried other drives in this ps3 and same thing. nothing. I've tried 4 different ribbons and nothing. Any idea what this could be? It would appear it's a mobo issue, but what? Strange this happened after a reflow.

P.s. Sorry about the long read, just wanted to get the whole thing out there.

P.s.s Also before I did the reflow i noticed the controller would flash like normal than shut off then turn back on and flash than turn off than turn back on and flash. Then i could sync it. After the reflow it boots right up and the controller is back to normal. Could this be connected in some way?

It's a solid blue error.
Reflow (like a mentor said to me) it's not use you cannot keep it alive with that. (that's the problem).

I don't think so about the controller, seems a faulty mobo. Some user with more experience on this field will lend you a hand. Anyway i will report back to you @CopyLifted

Thanks for the reply. Actually, the reason the blue light was solid the first time I booted this was due to it not being re-assembled properly by the previous owner. it was stuck in the closed position. I have since realigned everything and it works great now......in another ps3 lol. No drive works in this particular ps3. But, it did (appear) to work before the reflow at times. The solid blue light as been fixed. When you try to put a disc in the blue light will flash but it will not take in the disc. the rollers do not roll, the laser eye makes no movement when powerd on, nor does it light up. Like I said, it was acting weird but the drive would make movements before the reflow. After the reflow it's like there is no power to it at all. Again, it does work like it should in another ps3.

Yup. I tried a couple different PSU's. I even tried a couple different power/eject boards. No change.

A reball is a bit over my head ATM. Although I do have the needed equipment. Very curious to know if that is what's needed. I did notice that the cable going from the psu to the mobo had one wire that was half sliced and taped back up. Replaced that and no change.

Try cleaning the pins on the ribbon connector for the BD on the mainboard, and make sure the clip is snapped right down tight. Try a thin piece of plastic on top of it to press it down hard and tape it down. It sounds like a bad connection to the mainboard to me...

The clip appears to be secure. I tried pushing down on the clip while booting and still nothing. Tomorrow I'll try the other's you mentioned.
