I have already tried that too. Thanks though. In fact, I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of. No change at all. No drive will work in this PS3. It has me stumped.

If anybody has any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

I only skimmed through the thread, so sorry if you said you tried this.

But did you try and do the remarry process? Maybe remarrying the board will fix the problem.

Don't forget to play a blu ray movie while still in factory/service mode, after the remarry execution finishes.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it was already on 4.11 once I got it booting.

Hi. I seem to have the exact same problem as you. Drive is just dead. Tried swapping everything with no luck.

I probed the power connector and what is supposed to be 12V is only at 0.9V and goes slightly higher when I try to insert a disc in.

The thermal fuses referenced in previous post, are they on the mobo or on the drive board?

It looks like the drive that you have in the ps3 may not be its original, thats why it wont work. without CFW there is no easy fix for this, because each drive is For that specific ps3 (best way to put it) Just like each HDD only works on the specific ps3 (until a format)

I dont think its going to work because when its says "Put a BD movie disc in and run it on the PS3. (This restores your DRL files!)" Remember the problem that we are all having is our PS3's dont except any kind of disc. So how can it restore my DRL files? What do you guys think.
