help ps3 freezes
wow i am upset at myself now for doing this. i downloaded the heap overflow pic and put it on a memorystick and then i copied the folder to my ps3. then i mailed it from my american account to my european account and tried to view the attachment, when i did that it saved the photo and it froze at the saving screen, so i shut my ps3 down. then i restart it and after a few seconds it just freeze.

I had the same problem with my ps3.... kept freezing seconds into xmb and showed green and purple squares... I did a FULL system restore on it from the system settings and it fixed the issue perfectly... never froze again.

the thing is i can't get to the format thing because it freezes within 3 seconds after you get to the XMB. i tried to boot into a demo and it just froze.

take the hdd out the ps3 put it in a pc del partition or whatever and reformat it on ps3 as it will need to

thats what i am going to do right now. i have it in my desktop and i am booting a linux live cd to reformat it.
