Me and a friend are looking to downgrade our slim PS3's on the newest OFW but are not sure the best/legit way to go about it, both PS3's are pretty old so they were not bought on 3.72 factory fw, we are willing to buy the tools available but unsure which method is easiest and most reliable. is there anything else you'd like to know to answer my question?
Thanks in advanced hope someone can help

depends on your skills you can use E3 Flasher (easier to use) or Progskeet (solder skills needed)as hardware flasher for downgrading. here the steps you need to do information if your PS3 can be downgraded you find on checking console capability of running 3.55 if you like to get live help, join the chat ps3downgrade |

I got mine from here
http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/ came within a week, you also need a downgrade dongle and microsd card, the dongle is special but the micosd is a normal card so you can use your own as well if you have one. |

You can start by looking (Here) This should give you an idea of whats ahead. As far as what you need in terms of hardware, munchy_cool mentioned that in an earlier post. My recommendation to you is to read as much as you can before doing ANY actual work to the PS3. Get a good grasp of what's required and have ALL tools needed. (Dongle, Flash Drive, Files, Etc.) Good luck!!!

Read Read Read and study up before u go to do anything as stated above, other than that getting over the fear of bricking your machine is the biggest step in my opinion.
