[Update1]My ps3 fan repair progress..
To my dear friends... I sent my ps3 to a repair shop to get my fan fixed... They managed to solder it back on but it still wont work... The ps3 turns on but the fan doesnt :/ does anyone know if the ps3 needs the hdd or a disk inserted for the fan to start spinning?? Or should it start when the ps3 does.. ?
they will try to find some other fan that they have in their shop and fix it that way.. Lets hope it works  to everyone who added my psn xXBlu3n0vaXx for mw2 lobbies... subscribe to this thread bacause I will make updates as soon as I know more Update 1: The dude in the store has a friend that has a fat ps3 that he doesnt use and I will maybe get it for free then I can wait for my external one for the ps3 slim to arrive and then I have 2 ps3's... wich means no need to dual boot this whole thing might turn out to be great..

No it doesn't require a HDD for the fan to work. Are you sure the fan isn't working? If you are a xbox 360 owner you need to lower your expectations of noise, they can be quite quiet.

Do you have a way to test to see if there is voltage at the fan connections?
