Try and patch your 4.00 backup with the link in my last post. Then flash it to your ps3 with all switches down.

Rename this patched backup to bkpps3.bin. Put it on your sd card by itself. Put it in your flasher with all switches down and press start. Reboot ps3 and you should get the connect controller screen. Then follow the downgrade steps. Good luck.

Yes. After you flash the patched bios and reboot and see the controller screen. Cut the power and use downgrade dongle.

Ok, when you say you checked it, do you mean each flash file individually like you're supposed to? Or just with some program?

sorry to tell u...
I got up early in the morning and tried this. Still same..No display ...no hdd activity and power button holding also did not work. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* by the way- i feel that my own bios backup will be a problem. also, i had forgotten to backup the bios after the second step.. I took a copy of bios to my pc only after the ps3 got bricked in the restore step when first light started progressing.. is there a problem? Last edited by aneeshchennai; 05-26-2012 at 10:36 AM. |

If that backup is from after you got bricked, and after patching it didn't work, then I'm sorry to say you most likely won't be able to fix it. Try one more thing. I haven't tried this, but have seen it worked for a user on here. Flash your backup with the switches 1 and 3 up and the rest down. May not work either but worth a shot.

3UP = backup
my 2 cents...i had a brick..could not repair it using "1UP-2/6DOWN ** unbricked with original way: bkpps3.bin+e3_downgrade.bin - 1UP-2/5DOWN-6UP, proceed with downgrade, tho i had normal screen input! also heard..it's normal behaviour with patched file and black screen..aka you must do it blindly, although you don't see a thing on screen, it's working..just watch the front led on PS3 some info about your backup: it looks valid ..in my view this must be able to fix, perhaps ask euss on efnet...if u check it with "norpatch" it show's Code:
PRG0 version = 3.55 PRG1 version = 3.21 PKG0 version = unknown PKG1 version= unknown ROS0 version = 3.60 ROS1 version = 3.72
not to cause any drama here but this patched dump is byteswapped = IFI header instead of "original bytereversed e3 header" = FI.I...one must patch the E3manual patches from the wiki with original E3DUMP(sendspace link ^) = FI.I header and not on the "bytereversed" IFI - bkpps3.swap.bin u get from Flowrebuilder(Bytereverse NOR dump)check screenshots... so, grab the e3manual patches use that sendspace dump open Flowrebuilder Choose option 6 : Patch a bytereversed NOR dump or an ..... Load original bkpps3.bin(sendspace link) into flowrebuilder Load Progskeet_patch.txt into flowrebuilder Hit Execute operation Done correct manually patched bkpps3.patch.bin has a MD5 checksum of: Code:
File: bkpps3.patch.bin CRC-32: fb29bbf8 MD4: 7cd6c5e852ed62321f7dc03daac8e08f MD5: d42c604f983e0c1066d4dd8cc9f2107a SHA-1: ae3e4631d9f8c049b5d7283cbe93439f6b1142ae Last edited by haz367; 07-18-2012 at 07:45 PM. |
