Awesome Team Rebug, yet another bright light in these dark times (for the ps3 scene anyways). Well installed the updater package, reactivated all the games that sony had so slyly kidnapped, updated the useless trophy data just so no game bothers me about it. I turned off my ps3 after that, was getting ideas of going on the PSN... and that might lead to me throwing more of my hard earned money into sony's pockets.

EDIT: Solved by myself. Back in the day I install rebug + security patch, now I reinstall rebug, update and everything works

How to check if a game works to play online in 3.55cfw:

1.- Go to http://ps3.brewology.com/psn/updater.php?ref=news
2.- Put the TITLE_ID of the game, e.g: BLES00256
3.- Click the button "Find Updates" and you will have his bigger patch available, e.g: EP4001-BLES00256_00-GRIDPTCHSCEE0103-A0103-V0100-PE.pkg
4.- Download the patch... then extract his PARAM.SFO and open it with a .SFO editor to look at the PS3_SYSTEM_VER, e.g: 02.1000
5.- If the PS3_SYSTEM_VER is 03.5500 or smaller, it will work online and you can install this patch

Notes:
In the filename of the patch i used as an example... the area marked as A0103 means that this patch has an APP_VER = 01.03 (is the version of the patch, this info is stored inside the PARAM.SFO inside this .pkg)

Trick to block updates:

1.- Do the previous procedure and stop in step 3 (just take note of the APP_VER)
2.- Go to your game install folder, copy his PARAM.SFO and edit it in a pc to the same APP_VER you fond in previous step
3.- Replace the old PARAM.SFO with the new one

Notes:
When you replace a PARAM.SFO manually in the internall HDD... the XMB ignores it (it keeps using an old copy of the previous one)... to solve this you need to "restore the database"... or boot the game 2 times (the first time you boot it you are forcing the XMB to update his database and your modifyed file is loaded)
This is not a problem with disc backups (only with HDD installed content)... disc contents are always checked when are mounted

You can also put your game ID into this url and see what the current updates are

Which means the 1.07 patch is a no go because it needs 3.60
You can then go to http://store.brewology.com and look for an older patch.
To trick the update system you can:
-edit the PARAM.SFO to the current patch level
-copy the PARAM.SFO out of the current patch
-use a patch blocker proxy (IE mossy's patch blocker)

Keep in mind some (most?) games won't let you connect to other players if your patch is old. This is the case for Red Dead, you can go online fine with 1.06 but you won't see anyone who is not on 1.06 as well.

Nice method, in fact is faster... i used this (with a different url) time ago, but one day stopped to work (i dont remember what changed but is good to know the new link)

Btw... the examples we used are real games, based on what we was talking about, i think can be done a compatibility list with this columns:

sigh...I want to play a pirated copy of Black Ops online soo bad. I wish I hadn't updated now. that was the coolest thing I did when we used to be able to get online with 3.55, besides download games and charge them to some imaginary credit card number. SP-INT 4 eva. I own it for Xbox, Piracy is an inocent thrill. do not take that away from me. love
