Ok, Good day folks........Yesterday i bought a used ps3, turns out its a cech2001 model (Slim 120gb) :D and it has firmware 3.50 on it.......yayyyyyyyy. lol

Now i want to know some stuff, to get Kmeaw 3.55 i must update to the original 3.55 first. good i understand that. then i can try to xmb update and if that doesnt work try the recovery mode install of the cfw 3.55.

Thing is i saw a 3.55.2 also, whats the difference ?

Also i dont have internet at the place im renting. To use the backup function, as in backing up games and playing off the hdd, do i need to have the disc in the drive ? ( then why would i want to backup lol)

Is there a cfw 3.55 with the patched cinivia files in it already?
Do newer blu ray movies and games like max payne 3 would work ?

Still no ps2 support ?

And just one more question, would a full copy of a blu ray movie (nothing ripped) work on the ps3 ?

I would go for recovery menu right away

That is the Rebug CFW, Rebug sounds as debug and that is what it is, a CFW with many debug options

For playing a backup any BD game disk can be used. So you can leave that one disk in the drive and play any game (with max FW 3.55, unless you have a True Blue dongle aka TB Dildo)

Don't know about the cinivia files. Latest BD movies and latest games (FW 3.55+) don't work.

Nope, only if you have a very early PS3. Other option is a Cobra dongle but PS2 emu isn't that great because only the real Emotion Engine chip can do it.

Don't know but I don't think so. Better rip it to a mkv file or something. No irritating advertisings also that way

Urrm, what's a tb dongle, is it sumfn that let's u play newer games on ur old 3.55 cfw? I'm a newbie too, I dnt have any experience..

Newer games wont work on 3.55. Your only option is to dualboot or upgrade/downgrade with hardware flashers or buy a TrueBlue dildo.

I'm not sure if rebugs 4.11 spoofer is enough to get newer bluerays working, perhaps someone else knows?

Spoofers definitely won't allow games, but it might allow some blurays... although I thought there was a database file needed to be updated (via firmware) to allow them, but I am possibly wrong. (?)
