Thanks for backing me up. Maybe he will listen now, since you are more experienced than me. I am pretty sure that he is getting the wrong ps3 error because he doesn't have the 10/28/2011 Samsung update loaded on e3 flasher. That's the one that lets you do as many ps3 as you want, no matter what brand of nor. Right?

Yeah. That is right.

You will get that error if the clip isn't secure and you haven't used the Samsung update.bin. Because the e3 flasher isn't reading the chip id good enough, it thinks it is a different chip.
Using the Samsung update.bin will get rid of that error, but you will still need to get a good connection with the clip, to get a good backup.

Hopefully the big red text will stop @maxkanick , from making a permabrick out of his ps3.

It's funny how some people just won't listen, if it is not what they want to hear. Even if it is the truth.
I had a friend that his girl was cheating on him. Everyone knew, and a lot of us told him. But he just wouldn't listen.
Finally he walked in on her getting it from 2 dudes at once. Then he understood.

Some people just have to learn the hard way, I guess.

Did you update your flasher with this update.bin?
You are getting that error because you don't have the clip on good enough. Or you flashed a backup from a different console?

As for your questions about ps4.
I am 100% sure a ps3 will not play ps4 games.

Let me check my crystal ball and get back to you about the ps4 being hacked. It is hard to see the future with it sometimes.

i am also curious as to why you arent able to dump the bios. Did you flash another consoles bios? Where are you located? If you are going to give up on the ps3, I will take a look at it. If you want you can send it to me and will see if I can get it to act right. You pay shipping both ways. Other than that i wouldnt charge you a thing. I would do it just for shear experience. Or you can sell it assuming you havent flashed any other bios to it.

Tht is a shame. Another one bites the dust. And it was fixable all the way till you flashed other bios. That is why it is better to research before acting. Owell
