update loop

i got a ps3 that what ylod i fixed it. and tried updating it to 4.11 but it hits 62% and errors. i cant remember if i checked to see if the drive worked, i think it did. but i put my good working drive in there to try still no luck. Anything i can do to stop the update and get it back on 3.66 or even get it updated.

What is the error code. Then i be more able to pinpoint the problem to why your ps3 is going into a update loop. To get out of a update loop you would have to formate the hdd but to beable to update uneed to fix your problem. So post the error code. Ifyour ps3 was on 3.66 before u tryed to install 4.11 then your ps3 is still on 3.66 becsuse before a ps3 install a fw it will do checks and if it fails it will go into a update loop and the new fw cant be install.

Code:
Update error 0x8002F1F9 Error with installing Firmware update. Check the connection of the Wifi/BT board, reboot system and reinstall firmware.
Update loop at 40%-65%

Cause: This is when the console checks and sometimes updates the WIFI or Bluetooth module.
Fixes: First if the console has been reflowed recently or someone has been inside the console double check that both the antenna and ribbon cable are securely plugged in or if they are damaged. If not try swapping the wifi module or antenna for known working ones if you have any spare, or check for and replace any missing components. In rare cases it maybe a trace or component on the main board itself. In the majority of cases simply replacing the wifi board will fix this problem. The 8 pin EEPROM on the wifi controller board contains mac address, bluetooth and USB info which you may wish to take into account when swapping boards; however the console will work fine by swapping boards as it is not tied to the console unlike the logic board.
