Oh, darn. I sorta was anticipating reading on how a smart lad figured out how to get this dongle booting, but instead I find an abnormal amount of "bleh" posts - the most hilarious being that suddenly the top dogs which for the most part have been praised by members of this site are suddenly all "pro-dongle" and "out to get you" over the "great cover-up". What is it with men and their inability to admit when they made a mistake?

@zadow28 : apparently, you need to release working P.O.C., or the 1337 d3v5 will troll/slander you. I suspect that if oct0xor had just posted a bunch of ida databases from the ps3usercheat dongle, they'd have called it fake too. Food for thought.

@1337 d3v5: You can't have it both ways... put up or shut up. If you don't want to be part of the scene by actually destroying this DRM bullsh1t, then leave us to our failures. "That's wrong, but I'm not going to tell you what's right" is not helpful, in fact, it's the opposite of helpful. And telling us to read the wiki is dumb; for one, the overwhelming majority of people who read the wiki (myself included) do not understand or know how to utilize the info in there. For two, if there was info in there that would lead to open solutions to the dongle problem, someone would have done it already. It is *not* the be all end all of PS3 knowledge, and it is useless for the average end user.

I don't doubt that many "devs" in the "scene" know exactly how to accomplish what cobra/TB is doing, but they won't say because they are either in on it themselves, don't care about the scene, or are protecting sony and game devs from piracy. Guess what? Piracy already exists, in fact, the worst form of it exists (pay-for-piracy). You are not protecting sony/the game industry from anything, the only people you are protecting is TB. If you don't care about the scene, why do you suddenly care when someone posts dongle-cracking infos? Which brings us back to point 1: why are you protecting TB?

Once again, either shut up completely and let us flounder, or drop the bombshell, kill off the dongles, and gain our infinite respect. Just don't pop up every time someone "releases" something and call it fake. That is what's known as "trolling". And if you don't know how to kill the dongles, well, how do you know if it's fake/useless or not? Do you see the predicament you're in? Your little coven/mutual admiration society means *nothing* to the average end-user unless you release working solutions, not trolololing "fake!" posts. I'm not telling anyone to release anything, I'm telling you that *unless you do so*, you are nothing to us. Past deeds only go so far, I don't think of Thomas Edison every time I flick a light switch.

the only way we can make this scene better is if we stop getting into this real/fake conversation and work together to achieve realness and expose fake. I know that we want this scene to succeed but how can we do that when we keep at each other's throats? As i have said before in the past, give people who make claims that they can do something enough time to do it and if they can't provide proof that what they are doing is real, only then can you call fake.

Progress, no matter how big, small or indifferent is progress. If may not be the thing that you want but you have to understand that not all people who develop homebrew and CFW are not doing it so that the typical end user can cheat and pirate.

I do so appreciate the hard and endless work that Dev's do in the scene but the in-fighting has to stop. everything that is done should be for the good of the scene, not for profit. What Zadow has done is progress and we should not be tearing it down. we need to make it stronger. Let's all work to advance the scene. not snuff it out, IMO
