I don't think I really grasp what the article was going for. The game Beyond seems cool and heavy rain was a pretty good game. I'll play anything once

They have strong titles (that i love) when Quantic dreams comes around. But in *sales* tems they deserve more.

people are sheeps these days they will buy halo and cod immediately
but games like uncharted, heavy rain, last of us and beyond two souls deserves much much more than these games. i dont know when people will wake up. otherwise gaming is in danger future will fps only

They either take risks with new IPs or do what Micro$oft does and announce nothing but sequels to already established franchises. (Gears of War: Judgement, Halo 4, Forza Horizon, etc..)

They're far from unsafe.
My example is the upcoming Dust 314 from CCP Games. As Microsoft was unwilling to do a tie-in as they requested, their only outlet was Sony if they wanted to get a game on console. Sony fronted no money for development, but waved the license costs in return for CCP giving Sony access to the title for an exclusive period. CCP is bound by contract to deliver a game as a result, shouldering all of the financial costs for development; Sony incurs virtually no risk if the game does well or not. |

If they risk with new IPs they will notice a drop on the sales (even more) but if they don't risk to innovate or they don't gave room to some innovation titles...well.
