if i dont want to spend any money on any of those can i take my ps3 slim hdd out and format it to my pc and then stick it back into my ps3 and format it back but because it has no ps firmwear on it i can load it up with the 3.55 ofw. please help me ive been trying to jailbreak for like 3 days now non stop..... i need that deadspace 3

There are two possible solutions .. Always try a) first then b)

    a) Dualboot only:

        Wrong HDD in Esata Station
        After downgrading your PS3 you have to install the SAME firmware on BOTH hdds then upgrade one HDD to OFW .. the error will be gone than ..
        Example: downgrade to 3.55 kmeaw .. put 3.55 kmeaw on BOTH hdds via Recovery Mode .. then update your OFW HDD to 4.11 OFW .. 

    b)Brickfix:

        well done .. you bricked your PS3 :)
        Solder SBE to Tristate .. use Flash Fun Mode (10000000) to reflash the valid back up of the firmware revision you bricked on ..

I see a post on this forum a while ago about the switch positions on an e3 flasher changing depending on wether the e3 is fitted with the clip or soldered on, is this true because when i was doing the copy ps3 nor to e3 nor to setup dual boot step it errored out, I checked the log and it had tried copying the e3 nor to the ps3 nor and bricked it!.

I had checked my dump with the validators before doing the above but have since found out most of them are useless, I tried flashing my dump back but all I get is black screen so I think my dump is screwed, who is trustworthy enough to send my dump to so they can check if it is indeed corrupt without pinching the psid?

Anyway i'm not too fussed about that ps3 but I have another cech2103 that has not got a BD board so want to try again but I dont want to brick that one too. I need to know 100% with regard to the switch positions, was the e3 guide written from a wired or nor clip setup?

hello i bricked my ps3 on 3.55 rogero and i got a vaild dump but the HDD i got bricked with i took it out and put it in my other ps3 but can i unbrick with a new HDD inserted in my bricked ps3 thanks!

What did you do to brick? What symptoms are the console suffering. A little more info would go a long way to helping you.
