ok so the green light is the power light on the ps3 not a light on the E3 flasher then.

the green power light flashing is an error that the update in fsm failed.
do you have the txt file that would have been created?

and you will need to attach the E3 back and do the downgrade step again:
bkpps3.bin & E3_downgrade.bin on sd card
you need tristate on ps3 soldered to sbe on the nor clip ribbon cable
first switch up (flashfun) all the rest set down then last switch up.
turn on ps3 wait 60 sec then press start.
wait ages for it to finnish
turn off ps3
put all switches down and turn ps3 back on.
you should get the controller screen.
do the fsm downgrade step again.
(i would fully format your usb stick first though)

if you get the green flashing light again then dont do the second fsm file as it will soft brick again
but p/m me your txt file that was created

I'm sorry, let me clarify. I have the e3 flasher with the NOR clip. I believe I do have a soft brick. I was did hook everything back up and still black screen. Am I to still follow the steps that you have given?


Update: I tried downgrade step again and before it could complete, the power to the ps3 cut off. It seems to do this after about minute or so. What should i try next?

does the hdd light do anything? assuming the hdd is connected.
the txt you sent. its looking for hdd / bluray drive / blutooth / wifi etc at the point it has the error.

if the ps3 boots (with black screen) and the hdd is connected then you need to check the bluray drive is also connected correctly.

once its all connected then unplug the ps3 fron the mains then try and do the fsm downgrade step again.

its 3.30am for me so this is my last reply tonight.

but if the above doesnt get you any further then dont try flashing or anything with the E3 without advice from eg: playerKP420 or master737373 if they are online
as it doesnt sound to far of from being done. or just wait for me to come back on tomorrow.

is the fan attached / connected as it sounds about the right lenth of time for the ps3 to shut down due to excessive heat / over heat

Problem with CECHK08 Spansion N. Dump is good, Dump cfi too, but when i flash patched dump i get every time verification failed. All methods from the post #2 i have tried (new winskeet and old with libusb0 driver). When erasing also get failed. Цhat am I doing wrong?

i have never taken off the fan of before and i don't have that type of card that is used in the pictures. but in the pictures i still see half of the metal casing on just the main base were the Fan is

well in the image you used hare:

my heat sync pads are on the Other Side there the Nor Chip is. so it's on the bottom side.

and i don't see how it is safe to put the 2 metal silver blocks with 4 big black screws tight on top of the MB.

so if i were to use the cardboard from an exercise book that i used school. and cut it down to size and tape it down to the Clip - i have to tape no other way.

then put back the metal box - i have to because there is no there way to get the fan on top of MB because my MB is way different in design compared to yours.

then Plug in every thing i need and turn it on and still fails then I'll just put more pressure on until it does work....

and the E3 flasher did not come with any black screws so i used the silver ones from the old one and user solder to glue them down as you can see - maybe the heat on the nail caused damaged to Nor E3 flasher.

i put the cardboard in the MB will bend just a little to keep that tight fit/i can't put any more otherwise MB will be damaged.

but that bend on the Ribbon able don't look to good might get worse when i start putting it all back to gather with all the weight and all + there is barely any space on the E3 clip, i found the E3 ribbon cable almost flat but still had kind of a thin curl.

the update took perfectly all the lights are off

now i should be able to do a Bios back up and validate it + have it cheeked. would love to have it done ASAP as i wont to have a jail broken console by the end of today

all it it took is some cardboard folded 3 times and taped down not it's under pressure it's all good 4 the moment.

my ps3 now refuses to start up i put 2 20 cent coins on the Clip taped them isolated them.

and when i put it the way i did before.

there is a red light when i try to turn it on the the green light turns on then turns off completely no red light

got it to turn on but it overheats in 10 seconds i cannot keep the pressure on with coins because the heat sync isn't touching and coins are relay good for this beacuse they are flat and cause no problems with clip

ok taped down a thin peace of cardboard and taped a 50 cent peace on top of that
