yeah this is ridiculous there are a lot worse thing that a child can be exposed to.
im only 20 so i dont have any kids but i do have a 5 and 13 year sister neither of which are interested in adult games or content.

me on the other i was a brat of a child and in my teenage years well ****... i think i would have almost given my mum a heart attack countless times. (this is not something im proud of)
but my point is each child is different and some children are harder to control than others. banning material from video games and the media will not change the fact that some children are in a constant battle to rebel it will just mean that they will find other ways to piss u off.

Well I believe the problem lies within the ESRB or PG or whatever they're called on every country , the stores selling them to individuals that don't meet the terms and parents themselves.
First ESRB should be re-examined . I mean for example Atelier Totori is rated as T when it could be 10+ . Call of duty and other war games that are heavy on the killing are rated T when they should be M and GTA is M when it should be A .
Second is the shops . You need an ID to buy smoke or alcohol , but when a 14 years old kid goes to buy or rent a game , nobody checks the rating.
Third is the parents . Imagine this for example : (12 yo)Daddy daddy , a new game came out and I want it . My friends all have it and it's really cool and everyone enjoys it . Can I have it?
(father)Well ok (as long as - you get good grades - save your money and buy it - or whatever parents usually say)
Guess what . The game is GTA and it has stealing ,killing, beating , and all the things they dread their children knowing.
That , I'm afraid is the sad truth and for the parents it's all ok , till one day they walk in his room and see his dear boy virtualy shooting a cop , and they go berserk and put the blame on anyone but themselves.
Wake up and get more involved with your kids interests , look for for a bit of info and set some limits people.
Now conserning nudity . There is *nudity* and nudity . What I mean is nudity aimed to arouse , and nudity like Inspectah_Deck mentioned. I mean turn on discovery channel and you'll see a hell of a lot more breasts in shows about natives , africa , amazon etc. Turn on animal planet and you'll see them (the animals) doing the deed. No reason to go crazy on something like that. If you don't like it , keep your kids away from it

Yes, this is really a problem.
Germany has the most strict youth protection in the world (i.e. you have to pay 200.000 Euros fine if you sell a 18+ game to a minor), but still it rates much lower on games when there is only some nudity.
I.e. Quantic Dreams Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in NA) was rated 16+ in Germany (18+ is the highest rating, hardcore porn and games like GTA are 18+).
In NA the game was rated AO (Adult Only), which is the same level that hardcore pornography is rated there and when a game gets this rating, Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo don´t allow it on their console.
So the game had to be censored in NA (all nudity got removed) and still got the highest rating "Mature" (17+).

On the *touch* screen era, it's rather difficult to keep out the kids of seeing what some conservative/puritan/etc adults think it's *EVIL*.
That's another problem, you got all kind of information 24/7 even if your TV is off. You have internet. (and so on).

So it's a marketing move this whole thing about being against this, and *act* like ashamed about such big SIN being committed.

Well assuming the parents do their job he wont, the game will carry an age rating so its a non-issue, there is a reason for age ratings on games its to tell you they aren't suitable for people younger than that, its like being offended that children can see sex in porn if they look, it carries and age rating meaning its not suitable for those younger, so they dont cater for younger audiences, if the game carried a universal rating and then showed pornographic material then there might be a valid points, but they dont and this game wont be either :P
