make a folder on your c: drive (lets call it "patch") place your blus30838 folder (the one you extracted from pkg), psn_package_npdrm.exe & package.conf in it
click start on windows type command prompt..double click on command prompt...then type cd c:\patch (press enter)
type psn_package_npdrm.exe package.conf BLUS30838
press enter ...and it will create your patch in same folder

Thanks again but when carrying out that command I get the error message no target directory found.

Its OK think I have sorted that. The folder BLUS30838 was inside a folder created PKG view.

Ive had enough, now I'm having problems with PS3gen.

OK getting these errors

[Error] PARAM.SFO: Param TITLE: Blank string.
[Error] PARAM.SFO: Param RESOLUTION: HD unsupported.
[Error] PARAM.SFO: Param RESOLUTION: SD unsupported.
[Error] PARAM.SFO: Param SOUND_FORMAT: 2LPCM unsupported.
[Error] Directory (NPCommID): Not found in /PS3_GAME/TROPDIR.
[Error] EBOOT.BIN: Not found in /PS3_GAME/USRDIR.

PS3gen does not see HDD either

Are we able to use dlc in Dex? Ive tried installing batman ac dlc and didnt worked

as ive already posted
right here we go....fixed the problem....if your hard drive is not showing up in windows 7 follow these steps.

1. run ps3gen as normal (drag drop files etc..) .do not build
2. goto file and save project...then exit program
3. run ps3gen as admin ...load saved project
4. goto build and hard drive is there.
hope this helps someone...cos it was driving me crazy

mate I have just found that out on another forum about this, I am getting somewhere now.
I have check the boxes 720 and 1080 because I was getting video format not supported error when trying to load.
Now I am getting eroor 80028F11 game not supported message.

I am getting there slower, would be good if someone can confirm MW3 works.

I see some of you having problems with psn_package_npdrm.exe and the thing is you don't need to use it. You need to extract the retail package to your pc then rename it as BLUSXXXX (XXX = game id) then move it to devhdd0/game with multiman. You then turn off your ps3 and run recovery mode and rebuild the database. Install DEX FW 4.11 and enjoy your game from usb. I can also confirm on NOR consoles if you want to use original 4.11 games you just need to change usb emu to BD drive and hdd native back to same as speed as BD. It works without a drive fix.

Did you install using multiman on 3.55 then update to 4.11 ?

OK i'm nearly there, I can get the games to show in xmb but when I start them I get the message you must insert disc to play.

Can I ask when using PS3Gen do you get errors because I always get told that the Trophy directory is missing and that there is also no eboot.
