If I want to play original retail disc, should I change the setting in Blu-ray Disc Access back from BD Emulator (USB) to BD Drive?

Change that to BD drive, the HDD native option to same as BD and your good to go.

I was also thinking about would creating "fake package" would be possible or not. Think about it, remember those cheat PKGs from CMP (codemasters projects) they are like fake pkgs too. What if we could use the similar steps from that and in the final step, we could use patching method by using psn_package_npdrm.exe. I don't think it would be that easy but just throwing some ideas, that all. I wonder will it be possible?

I tried 1.01 patch -->Blackscreen.
1.02 patch -->Throws me back to XMB
1.03 patch -->Throws me back to XMB

Create PARAM.SFO with ps3sys.exe.
Copy ICON0.PNG & PIC1.PNG & PS3LOGO.DAT & SND0.AT3 To A Folder With Name For Exapmle : BLES01470
Create USRDIR In Same Folder
Create package.conf With Higher Version (if game version is 1.04 we must edit in package.conf to 1.05)
Create The PKG.
Install.
Check PKG & All is good.
but game wont start.
so we need to modifie EBOOT.BIN to get games working without update & with fake Update.
if there is no change in Game Files so game wont work without update.
i tested 2 games that haven't any update but same result & back to xmb.

right guys first of hello from belfast.first post so i hope i dont get flamed.i have a ps3 on kmeaw 3.55 which i downgraded to 3.41 to get my root key have all that done and am ready to flash from cextodex.what i would like to know is that i have a few backups on my ps3 already used multiman and would like to know would any of these games be playable after upgrading to itskamel's dex firmware or dex 4.11?

can't get dragons dogma to work (BLUS30720) black screen...first time a game hasnt worked for me...but the BLES version has been confirmed as working & has the same update???

Thanks for your findings. I guess installing all 3 updates together does not work too. I wonder what is special about Resident Evil Operation Raccon City? Special encryption?

It boils down to EBOOT.BIN. I believe in coming months new solutions will arrive.
