I dont get it.. Kakaroto or whatever the hell he´s named told us that he had this way of converting ofw to something that resembles a cfw.

Now when CEX2DEX got released, I can recall some devs saying that this was he was talking about and that its unfortunate that it got released.

But kakaroto also mentioned that this would work on later fw's?

So its not the same?

if he would release his method it would provide ppl with the opportunity to convert to DEX?

A hen is short for homebrew enabler. If his method allows to extract metldr then we can install dex on later ofw?

This had nothing to do with dex all it was supposed to do was enable homebrew on 3.73+ without peek and poke with the NPDRM algo

Nope as the users stated, the Cex>Dex conversion is only to *Transform* your retail ps3 into a debug one.
Kakaroto was on 3.73 the last time i checked and was a whole different thing the with him and the HEN.

True dat but, the thing is I saw the ability to run the HEN on 4.11. Without peek and poke u should be able to extract metldr maybe run a flasher its not impossible

Exactly but Kakaroto stated that the HEN if someday is released will allow only run Hombrews, no warez.
That's the problem, with this info released i don't know if this *affected* in some way what kakaroto was planning to do with the HEN.

Since the conversion allows you to pirate and run differents apps. Since your console ends to be a debug unit.
So really? i don't know.

No. The Kakaroto HEN was an user mode exploit. To extract metldr you'd need a kernel/hypervisor exploit. Same with flashing.
Also the HEN was incomplete, you could install packages but not run them (which is why it wasnt released).

Really, I would be a liar if I told you warez was not my motivation for going to CFW. But I can imagine it for other purposes too. Kakaroto's jailbreak is basicly useless atm, but Kakaroto's jailbreak + CEX/DEX conversion might be a interesting thought.

Maybe Kakaroto's mind was focused on something else. If hes crew worked on extracting metldr, and find a way to flash to debug software, it might work..you never know

I'm pretty sure his crew wouldn't go very far only being able to install packages and not run them.
