I'm waiting for World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Mostly because I'm already level 85, my computer can play WoW on high settings, and I don't feel like learning another game. I already have enough games to play that require my undivided attention.

Plus I like the way WoW looks/operates better in terms of gameplay and such. At the same time, WoW has had many years to be polished.

WOW was an option and was originally my first choice but the subscription put me off

guildwars has always been sub free.

i dont mind paying for the game/expansions etc but like hell will i pay over £100 a year to play lol

If Anet didnt stop adding new content to GW1 I never would have bought WoW. So now that I've been playing WoW for 4 years, the money I paid for the sub seems a waste.

But hey, already pre-purchased GW2, played in the last 2 beta weekends. First beta was mad, you were lucky to even log into the game! Second one was a lot better, a couple of crashes but ran very smoothly.

The dynamic events have too short a cooldown, as soon as you've done it, 5 minutes later it's happening again.

i havent played in a beta weekend yet but hope theres another soon. the cooldowns will be that way for testing purposes, apparently they will be persistent in final release.

I actually talked it over with a friend and WoW is actually a really good deal. It just looks bad from an outside perspective.

A game is only worth the amount of time you put into it.

For example: People who only played Skyrim for two months (and paid full price for it) basically paid $30 a month to play Skyrim.

It's even worse for people who don't spend more than a month with their games who pay full price for them. People often pay $60 to play a game for a month then stop playing it.

WoW is cheaper than a retail game actually.

a sub game is expected to be played for years so at it would cost at least around $170 a year + price of game which is no good for me. i prefer pay to own / free to play servers + "optional" purchases as long as it doesnt go pay to win which guildwars2 have got just right

the analogy about skyrim/2month is flawed as those people would likely trade in /sell the game lowering their full cost by approx a half = $15 the month. WOW is not like that as you have the cost of the game + 2 months sub = ~$15 per month for a single game compared to console owners swapping every 2 months for the same cost

if you like pay subs and are dedicated to a game then more power to you but i like the initial payment with no sub. hell i nearly purchased the lifetime sub to startrek online at around $299 but subscription only sucks

edit. this is the last day to play guildwars 2 before release on 28th august (25th for us pre-purchased)
