I've managed to convert to DEX pretty straight forward, one would think that I wouldn't have any problems understanding basic networking.
Yes, my console is wired to a gigabit network, the same as the PC. This is not a network problem, and is not an operating system problem. As i stated before, I've tried with two different computers (with XP and 7) two different cables and two different switches. ---------------------------------- Thank you! So to summarise: Say we are only ProDG/TM to perform system updates. From CFW DEX 3.55 to go OFW DEX 4.20 : 1. Simply use OFW DEX 4.20 From OFW DEX 4.20 to CFW DEX 3.55 : 1. Use 3.55 Downgrader PUP 2. Use CFW DEX 3.55 or 1. Simply use Rogero DEX-3.55 V2. (Eliminates the use of 3.55 Downgrader PUP) Correct? Thank you. |

@gingerbread
I can confirm only the stuff I tested my self you can update to 4.20 dex and go back to 3.55 downgrader without any problem from xmb or TM , Rogero DEX-3.55 V1 cannot be installed from 4.20 on xmb, recovery mode or TM but install w/o problem on 3.55 downgrader. i didn't test Rogero DEX-3.55 V2. |

I manage to go up (4.20 DEX) and go down (Rogero DEX-3.55 V2) My Findings: I only ProDG/TM to perform system updates. At every update, unlike normal update, PS3 will shutdown at the final step and will not auto boot up. You have to long press ps3 till 1st beep to reset display. From CFW DEX 3.55 to go OFW DEX 4.20 : 1. I simply use OFW DEX 4.20 From OFW DEX 4.20 to CFW DEX 3.55 : 1. I Use 3.55 Downgrader PUP -> After this step, I long press ps3 till 1st beep to reset display. I notice a grey screen with debug wordings with ip adds below. Did you notice this? 2. I Use Rogero DEX-3.55 V2 After installing Rogero DEX-3.55 V2, I long press ps3 till 1st beep to reset display. PS3 was back to DEX 3.55 CFW. Thanks you. |

setting Wake on LAN - ON, the fan keeps spinning slowly in stand-by mode, just like with remote-play ON, atleast on my end
![]() disabling Wake on LAN puts the fan off like normal, btw using the file from 355 updater on the wiki downgrades back to 3.55 also just fine |

YLOD is like RROD - it's one of those things that will eventually pop out of the woodwork and bite you in the ass - YLOD has happened on non-jailbroken PS3s too so it's pretty much Russian Roulette. Blame Sony and MS for releasing such broken hardware - that's the culprit there - made in China - not made to last and all that jazz. |
