PS3 will not boot normaly only to the recovery menu
I have been reading some threads with no real answers. I have tried some of the suggested solutions with no luck.
My ps3 will not boot to the XMB. All i see is the green indicator light with no audio or video. I am able to get video when I boot to the recovery menu. From which I tried all options, with no positive outcome. Also I have tried updating the System from the menu. It indicated to try firmware 3.15 or higher, which I do only to get the following errors. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Error Codes 8002F235 8002F285 8002F2C5 |

Update error 0x8002F285 Issue with System Restore or installing Firmware update in Recovery Mode. Reboot system and reinstall firmware.
Update error 0x8002F2C5 Error with installing Firmware update. The PUP is not recognised as valid update. (Can be generated by pulling the storage device with the PUP when it is still in checking stage. DANGEROUS!). edit: just as info, nothing else, you can find this on ps3devwiki section Error Codes

I have been switching hard drives recently. But the problem came up before that. The problem came up when the system was still untouched.

Hi. Make sure you have the original hdd of ps3. Connect the hdd to pc and check the disk for errors (bad sectors). If no bad sector found, try to reinstall firmware with that hdd. If it doesnt work, you can try to install a nobd patched pup (3.41 or 3.55). If it doesnt work, try to set the ps3 into service mode, and place the Lv2Diag.self and 3.41 ofw pup and install with original HDD too. If it doesnt work, I think that your ps3 sata port is bad! That or the mainboard. Keep posting so we can diag it.
