The dev team that makes the jailbreaks for iDevices are always up to date. They are in fact up to date right now, plus Apple is far bigger company then Sony.

Developers must be scared since Sony has won lawsuits in the past.

There is no dev team for the ps3 anymore. They stopped because they where forced to by sony and the lawsuit. No one won the lawsuit.
(failoverflow&Egohotz vs. $ony)

Anyone can hack an apple product or a psp2000+ because they are technically a mobile phone. Laws, get used to them.

It would also cost a lot of money to by the hardware needed and escpicialy the brains to decrypt

So it's true that the law sees a difference between a ps3 and a mobile device? Doesn't someone own a ps3 as much as they do an iPhone?

If you buy it its yours YOU own the PS3 BUT YOU DO NOT Own the SOFTWARE So CFW is kind of a sore spot. All of the keys are sonys, so they do not like them being published.
