Hi guys,

A few weeks ago i converted my phat to dex. Because of the new eboots i decided to go from dex 4.20 to dex 3.55. During the installation of the firmware something went wrong..

My ps3 is now ylod!!!

Is this fixable? I only have the dump i made with jaicrabloader when i did the cex2dex conversion.
I don't have a hardware flasher but i can get my hands on one (progskeet from a friend)

Or could it be a traditional YLOD because of overheating?

i would really appreciate some help

Edit: It's a Nand-console btw

take the dump you got originally and make a copy of it and save it somewhere you wont loose it...

then take the other copy and patch it as normal downgrader ,you will need to deinterleave(split the dump into two files) and patch both files and then reinterleave (rejoin the two patched files).
then flash it back to the console.
enter FSM, then downgrade with lv2diag.self (366kb) and rogero 3.3 CFW (CEX)

then your back on cex and CFW.
install toggle qa and run it (be sure your bdrom is hooked up.)
then your on cex and dehashed and ready to install w.e OFW CFW you want.

Any1 else having problems installing rogero dex v1 and 2? I get "no applicable data found" from xmb and recovery. Couldn't downgrade from 411 dex with v1 or 2 either. But I can downgrade with the 355 downgrader pup.

Nevermind, I named it just updat.dat, forgot the ps3, lol. What a tit.

Could someone point me to a tutorial on how to install a progskeet on a nand board? I have acces to a v1.0 progskeet so i should solder it right?

I can't find much specific information on this. (most guides are for NOR consoles)

There is no 1 100% tutorial for DEX to CEX because there is a risk of brick. Different PS3 has different results. Of course it is much safer to switch DEX -> CEX on NOR PS3 than NAND but there is still a risk of brick.

NAND PS3 is even more fragile.

Few post back, there is one member who have bricked despite following a successfully guide.

Again, I strongly suggest that you have a USB Dongle with you first before you attempt any DEX <-> CEX switching.

Guys! If you have NAND and LOVE your PS3, please don't perform DEX to CEX! You will end up in Brick if you do it wrong! Protect your NAND PS3 as they are becoming a RARE commodity. I will mention it again. You will need a USB Dongle to do it. As @zaphod mentions, the FSM tool is buggy and can only help you too a certain extent. @zaphod , @CaptainCPS-X and few brave souls (includes me) took the first bullet so that you don't have too.
