1: They where all based on the ms BIOS ,that was CLOSED SOURCE and VERY DRM in the first place, and only allowed what ms wanted.
TX, SXX, Evo-X was not opensourced, because *gasp* they couldn´t opensource it due to it being ms code!

The bioses "made" by TX, Sxx and Evo-x where ALL FREE TO USE!
No need to pay anything for them, or use them, in any way, or form! They supported every softmod/TSOP out there! It was ONLY when the bios was to big for the standard 256kb (or 1mbit tsop depending on what version you had) that you needed their modchips.

You can not even begin to compare that with what TB is doing, unless you are REALLY stupid or have no clue about the xbox scene...
Trust me, i where, and am a part of it to this day. Pm me on xbox-scene, you´ll find me as a head-mod there if you dont take my word for it here...

LOADS AND LOADS of people trying to get patches going for their games. I have spent hours on getting all patches going for GT5 as i want the fixes for a game i own, and play alot! Of course there are some that want to update their warez copies to, but my gut feeling is that most want to update their legit games.

The warez crowed want the new games, sure i am part of it too, do not think i am trying to play the white knight here, but thats not everything we as a "scene" want.

So stop seeing everything so black and white, when it comes to the activity about keys/games, and see what more, then playing the "new" 3.60 games, people are using them for.

And more important:

Be sure that what you say have creditability (that you frankly lack..), and try to see things from more then one perspective before speaking!

iv been tying not to reply to stupid comments but this is on a whole other level.

firstly eboots dont = equal pirating!
people may be using original discs, i haven't seen one member apart from some 1 posters and noobs asking for warez.

and whats this have to do with TB u said u haven't been a member that long so u dont know what it was like before TB, i can tell u threads like this were very rare and the amount of uneducated accusations were around 0! im not going to get into the injustice of TB its been covered may times. but ill say pirating wasn't the issue with TB

and there are a few members/devs who are against pirating but we all know its not the majority or even close, there was a poll awhile back about who pirates and dosent search for it!!!

and lastly ur sig makes me laugh, from someone accusing others on such false pretense. maybe instead of making wild accusations you should sit down and try self analyzing, i dont even need to read between the lines to c u have an obvious superiority complex

Thanks for the reply. Granted the X3 BIOS being too large to fit into most chips flash was a main factor on people not using it, but people that did have chips with a large enough flash found the X3 refused to run - that was until Yoshir0 (can't exactly remember how to spell his name) remove the DRM from the BIOS allowing the use on any chip with enough space.

Sure, the fundamentals on how a XBOX1 modchip works greatly differs from that of the TB I never claimed otherwise.

As for releasing the source you know as I do that 99% of the XBOX1 apps were created with the official SDK and not only can you not find the source without hopping on a well known FTP server you could also not find the actual program/bios either unless you went to that FTP.

You said it right when you mentioned the code was based on MS's copyrighted BIOS whereas supposedly the TB code is based on free, open source and copyrighted work. Both products in some fashion included material that was not their own or were created illegally and both profited due in part to the mentioned code.

Personally, I don't care what scene developers make nor try to control them when what they produce costs money regardless of how it was created. They'll do what they please and petty bickering about it will only inform more people of their product(s) as it's free advertisement for them.

Remember, we're dealing with product that allows circumventing of copyright protection which is most cases is illegal so I see now point in claiming that the way the product was produced is illegal when most of the people claiming this do indeed pirate. By [loose] definition copying anything you do not own the rights to is illegal in most modern English speaking nations/countries. Backups and modchip related devices became illegal due to the DMCA in the USA at least.

Heck, it's not like I paid for my entire music collection.

Yes, there fundamental differences on the approach that all of the DRM laden products/software I mentioned take, but I simply do not care about specifics when it comes to theories on how the products came to be - all I care about is if the purpose they serve can benefit me. Just like if you see new scene software that doesn't benefit you - you simply do not download it.

In the end since the TB has horrid compatibility and if I were to own CFW I would have no intent on purchasing one because of that and that alone.
