3 original ps2 games = 3 ps2 games=30$ (plus ps3 lens maintenance for reading ps2 games)

reading earlier posts on this thread seems everyone just have the need to hate something ,in this case a usb dongle ?! keep on hating it

as for me i am going to keep mine till i hear about loading ps2 isos considering that did not become available on ps3 even till now at the end of its Career and ps4 is going to be released
some people already have many original discs that they can't play due to the lack of backwards compatibility. I duno what ps3 model you're using that you can play games "perfectly" but the ps2emu cobra is using is the same one that sony made originally, which means most games shouldn't even boot or if they do they should have lots of graphical glitches. people choose to hate on the cobra because they believe in a free scene, and also because the cobra devs stole most of their code from psgroove and then just found ways to re-enable features that sony already had in there, minus .iso support and +4gb files from external.

I for one have read through this post and it has gone from a good discovery, and an opening to a better solution to a tit for tat about dongles, and costs, and drm this or that. Really who gives a ****, this is an opportunity to learn something maybe progress this to be more compatible and useful to everyone bc or not. This topic is about ps2 software compatibility and how to use it. So, i think ill get it started back on track.Questions are always good keeps it moving and gets us to the solution. My question, how can we figure the way to implementing a xmb ps2 emulator that uses the same boot structure as being placed into factory service mode. Its obvious there are patches that are applied this way to do as such, most likely what cobra has figured out. Is it possible to do. Another thing i would want to look at is the last time sony made an update in a firmware update and possibly if in key range extract it and apply it. I think its a start and am more then willing to help in anyway.

wanted to add a thought, what about the tiff exploit by usb to get psx backups to work, could this be another helpful choice to bring us that much closer?

i have a ps3 60gb and ps2 games work on it even better than what they did on ps2 consoles ,i think anyone you are talking about that have many of ps2 games can have even more of them if they can download backups from the net, regarding the code they stole . . . might be true . . but they also were the Only Ones that added the benefits of loading ps2 isos feature that no one was able to do in All Those Years and if the cost of that is only 30$ its really cheap specially considering what that dongle offers ,2016 games that you can download any of them any time and load it to your ps3

that explains it. you're speaking as if everyone has a 60gb ps3. yours has backwards compatibility and the closest to 100% game compatibility for that matter. if ps2 support was what someone was after, cobra would do nothing for the majority of people who have ps3s with neither the Emotion Engine nor the graphics synthesizer built in. also I would be careful mentioning piracy on these forums, most places don't take kindly to it and here shouldn't be any exception

Great another anti-piracy brainwashed sheeple. anyway i hope they will keep working on improving the emu, i'm still quite happy with my cobra dongle though i can play ps2 iso's with it. if companies would just include dual-audio as a standard i wouldn't even need this stuff. Unfortunatly we need to rely on piracy and profit losses to force companies to actually listen to us consumers... such a shame
