Alright, so searching around I have come across something called a dex to cex conversion that allows backups to be used and other homebrew apps to be played on a console. even if it is running 4.21. From what I understand is that it was a leaked project, now I just dont get what it is really, how it works, and if I don't need a flasher or anything. This is a supreme noob question I know, but I'm pretty much lost, I tell ya, the ps3 scene is crazy!

1st of all you need to be on 3.55 or lower firmware to convert

if your model is downgradeable and you are over 3.55 you can use a hardware flasher to get down to 3.55 such as E3/progskeet/teensy++

once converted you can update dex firmware version and return again (dex = debug ps3)

here will let you know if you should be able to downgrade to 3.55. going lower than its factory version will brick

if you cannot downgrade then sorry, but you are SOL at the moment

It's exactly as "japsander" said in the above post you need to see if your model is Downgradeable or NOT , so be sure of that first check that here ONLY AFTER THEN attempt for your conversion.

well alright. thanks guys, I was just hoping that I could possibly get away with not having to hardware flash. damn, I was getting excited. Cause I'm on 4.21 now by some screwed up reason, and it sees like im kinda screwed now, is it a lot harder to downgrade on 4.21?
