if you read my post it covers that m8, put your original unreversed dump and e3 downgrade,bin on sd card and flash it back, then get into fsm. then re downgrade. dont forget to dehash this time

btw, if you already flashed back your original dump with e3 downgrade bin, then power off console, get into FSM, and redowngrade :0

I will try that with another HDD that i have. If it would prompt for the 4.21 fw on an empty hdd, why isnt it prompting on a hdd thats on a different fw?

My original bios 4.21 is already flashed on the console. I tried with the FSM dongle, console got FSM'ed and shut down. After that i inserted the dongle with the lv2diag.self and the rogero 3.55 cfw pup. Powered on console but green light was blinking and there was no usb activity (only a bit in the beginning). It didnt install the 3.55 fw because there was no hdd activity at all.
I exited FSM with second lv2diag.self and ps3 says again that it could not boot - could not find the right hdd.

I will try now with a empty formated hdd.

With empty formated hdd it says to insert 3.55 fw or higher and press select+start

Im downloading official 3.55 FW right now (or should I flash Rogero 3.55 CFW right now?)

just do this man. dump your flash right now and upload it. i could give a crap whats on any hdd, that doesnt really matter. after we figure out the problem, you can reflash then enter FSM and install 3.55 CFW no-check pup.

i wouldnt install 3.55 OFW unless you have dehashed your console in the past.

also, did you solder up tristate and reflash your original unreversed backup with e3 downgrade.bin? or did you flash from that "wrong hdd" screen?

I'm a little confused aswell, because it has been back and forth. I would install the rogero v3 3.55 cfw because, it is asking for 3.55 or higher. If it is not dehashed, and you install 3.55 ofw, you will brick again. I am assuming that it managed to downgrade, and that is why it is asking 3.55. Since you downgraded, it definitely needs to be dehashed before going to anything else

You may want to give it time and keep checking here for advice. Patience with these things goes a long way and if you aren't sure what you are doing, you may actually be doing more bad than good.

Wait...you said you flashed your 4.21 bios? But it is asking for 3.55? Definitely upload your bios dump here and let someone verify it for you.

Very nice of you @james28909 . I have been trying to help for hours. I just got through unbricking 4 consoles, and none seem to get this messed up. It all sTarted with him using the "patched" bios from tht thread. Wish I would have caught him before he did that. Now it is so cluster f**ked I am having a hard time keeping up with what he has done.

I cant belive that I saw all your posts AFTER I updated the original 3.55 fw on the PS3 and as you assoumed already, I am with a bricked console again.

Now I think the best thing would be to start the whole process all over.

Solder wire to E3 Flasher - Mobo
Flash 4.21 bios dump to NOR
Flash 4.21 bios dump with e3_downgrade.bin to NOR
Remove cable from E3 Flasher - Mobo
see what it does...

well, the more i think about it, the more i think he used the dump that you get from multiman, you know.... the one that you use to convert with... the cex 3.55 dump. and actaully in that case, he could very possibly just install 3.55 no check from recovery. and if he dehashed, he could install 3.55 OFW from recovery.

but it would be much better if he would solder up tristate and reflash the original unpatched and unreversed dump, along with e3 downgrade.bin. then just re downgrade with rogero 3.3 or 3.4
