It wont hurt to have a disc in your drive. I always have a game disc in just in case its required. It means 99.9% of games are compatible

i just downloaded the whole game from another site and i don't know if it will work..and i don't have the original disc of the game..I'll try it and if it doesn't work maybe i'll just buy the original disc then.. many thanks..

It doesnt have to be "the original disc" it can be any old £3 bargain bin game or bluray.

ohh, thanks for your advice..really don't know anything about this..I'm just learning it now and thnks for your site that really helps me..ps3 originals games discs are really expensive and my kids always want a new game..
