I would like to see it updated again, it seems the poor old banner gets neglected too often. I just made a quick edit seeing as I have a lot of time on my hands. I like to think of it as contributing what little I can

It's nice but my honest opinion is that it's way too wordy. Nobody reads already, and adding more words to a small area like that makes it pretty cluttered (and wordy) :P

<3's Doesn't mean I think the info is irrelevant or shouldn't be there, but, a bit too many words. Not sure if DEX should even be mentioned really as it's kind of more "advanced" type of firmware; though it IS an option.

Exactly what I'm thinking, I think TBH the tutorials the banner links to needs to be spiffed up and new ones added for DEX'ing.

TBH this was the least amount of words I could use to neatly fit everything relevant and everything people suggested :P

Could tell, I was trying to reword it myself and I kept ending up with several more than what you have here. It's difficult when people already DON'T read.

Maybe there could be a mini quiz to add after somebody registers. It will show them the banner, and ask 3 BASIC questions:

1) What is the highest hackable firmware?

2) Is there currently PSN access on CFW consoles?

3) (insert question regarding banner here)

4) Are you a human? <---- (thrown in for shiz. of course they human. But if they pick no they fail)

If they don't answer the 3 questions correctly they are told to read the banner again and do the quiz over. If they fail 3 times they have to re-do the registration process :P

That way, people will actually have to LOOK at the banner before they do anything, and thus doing so will actually put a little piece of information in their head that hopefully they will retain because it's not quite in-one-ear-and-out-the-other as it would be by just glancing the banner and running off asking a question.

If people do something for themselves they will retain the information easier (Rather than just being told/learning visually without seeing/doing).

Also, this is also about FOLLOWING SIMPLE DIRECTIONS (that lots of people can't seem to figure out how to do).

Making a custom captcha would be a lot of work wouldn't it? I don't know exactly what it would take to make a custom.. QUIZ to grant access either though.

The captcha is a good idea too, both kind of the same. They have to actually LOOK at something and find the answer. We want them to look at the banner though not a captcha :P

The captcha could be on sign up or once its introduced, something each member MUST complete once inorder to post, whereas the banner would remain but be updated

It wouldnt be custom either, it would just be 3 questions flat. (or the number of questions it takes to know common knowledge)
