PS3 doesn't recognise .pkg files
I have a FAT USB stick that I have placed two different .pkg files but both patch Dead Island 1.04 update, they are the only two files on the USB stick and are in root definitely, not folders or anything, the Ps3 doesn't see them in Install Package Files, I've booted up the ps3 with the USB in and plugged it in after booting ps3, what's wrong?

Take a backup of all your files, then re-install your cfw, then format your usb drive to fat 32, you can check in settings if it's already formatted to fat 32.
Also, make sure your usb port is working, also have no files on your usb, you probably don't. Hope something will make it work

First check if your USB is formatted in FAT32.
It sounds like it's formatted in NTFS and the PS3 doesn't recognize NTFS. If it's NTFS, reformat it into in FAT32 and it should work. Also, you aren't running DEX by any chance? If you are running DEX you should use the USB farthest away from the BD player for PKG files and the one closest for BD Emulation. |

left or right..it really doesn't matter...now if u have a homostick/cheap stick not sure what's the cause.... the cheap usbstick or the crapier usb slot in latest SLIMS? cuse the cheap stick picks up fine on another PHAT and the SLIM usb ports works fine cuse other sticks do detect always first time, the cheap one needs to be pulled out/in a couple times to detect..usbsticks wasting ur time

I've got a 2TB External HDD coming :D but so far gotta wait to backup and all that, The USB was formatted to FAT, so I'm guessing that's FAT32, it's not a cheap USB stick, but I don't know why it didn't connect to the Ps3, I've got one that works now though.
