[QUOTE=RaineKos;427475]This was nobody but myself. I was only testing for correct LV1 response to FSM as I knew I would be downgrading shortly thereafter.

I think something is going on with the bly-ray drive revoke list installs as that is breaking the de-hashing process. I get a failure on any firmware that is not noBD including OFW when trying to QA install for the dehash. I do remember getting this same problem when I tried it in FSM as well.
are you sure the QA has been activated? can you do the key presses to check?
the QA allows any f/w to install. as the f/w on the bdvd is higher than the bdvd f/w in the 3.55fw it gets "skipped" as QA flagging will allow this. you just need a working and married bdvd and working / plugged in bluetooth for the f/w checks

I tried the remarry process. Shouldn't the screen say "PASS" in green letters if the marriage is successful? Mine just shut off after running. I tried to run it on 3.55 Rogero since there is a 3.55 remarry procedure now.
when i do the re-marry i get it shutting off with phat ps3's but it works still for me (i have done it when i really do need to re-marry a bdvd)

The alternative I am thinking of is trying to use the NoBDBT firmware you have in your guide to do the dehash then try to load 3.55 OFW.
you can try this with the QA flag but i have never had success with the fsm way (see guide. i have a warning above it)
The only other thing I can think of is to try to install the Rogero 3.50 Syscon patched firmware for remarriage and try the 3.50 kit.
can you send me a link to this one & i will try this way also. (i keep forgetting about this way lol)

I should be QA'd. I can get the menu to appear under network.

Both of those work as far as I know. I cannot play Bluray movies since the original DGF issue happened back in 3.41. I was never able to get the DRLs to match. But I can play games just fine, or was able to back in 4.11 before all this.

Ok I was unsure.

Ok I will try the BDBT using the QA method. I did try the Rogery 3.50 firmware and it yielded the same results although it gave me an error code on the re-marry screen that I have not seen on 3.55. I do not remember what the error code is.

I will try the BDBT at lunch. (Advantage of living 5 minutes from work).

Thanks a TON for all the help baileyscream. It's amazing to see how complex some of the hacks are for PS3.

Ok I tried the NoBDBT firmware and was successful getting that to install using the QA method. Any hints to how to get the Blu-Ray drive to fall in line so I can install OFW without getting caught in a loop?

put a game disc in and check it works.
there "may" be an error somewhere
eg flat cable not connected propperly.
bdvd power cable not plugged in fully.
unlikely i know but if you just test then we can rule it out (also try a dvd film just to be on the safe side)

oh you remarried it. did you put a bdvd in after. in service mode to replace the files?

It was able to play Batman AA just fine. I am able to install pretty much any firmware I wish now as long as the BD firmware is patched out. I have carried out the DEX conversion process and I am about to flash the converted EID to the console. Maybe DEX has different BD firmware that the drive will accept?

ok
it would have been better to resolve the bdvd issue first but now your on DEX i cannot help you any further.
as i have not followed the DEX conversions.

It's cool. I wanted to see if DEX does a complete replacement of the BD firmware and it turns out that it does not. Luckily the MFW builder is able to patch out the BD firmware so I will try the install at lunch. I will try to get the update working without this patch when my replacement logic board comes in.

I will keep posting until the system is on DEX and working properly so others have a roadmap on how to deal with a cranky Blu-Ray drive.

Thanks again baileyscream, you helped me get the system to start accepting firmware changes again.

I can proudly say I am the owner of a DEX system. Like I said earlier, it will take any firmware that it normally would as long as BD firmware is patched out. This counts even for DEX firmware and even past 3.55. I am now on 4.11 DEX and have a working BD. I was able to test by running Batman AA and going in game.
